I always called them Rallye hoods.

I cannot relate this to models (yet) but similar situations have happened to me. First off you have to go in wanting to help and that is all, do it for yourself. If the other person shows a lack of respect or appreciation then you just do not help them in the future. You can't let bad instances change who you are or how you do things. For every person that just doesn't get it, there are 100 who are genuinely thankful for your help.

My plan is to just build a kit straight out of the box and slowly add different skill as time goes on. I want to learn how to airbrush correctly, so I know there will be a learning curve. No need to rush things. I am already realizing kits don't go together perfectly. Some of the parts need to be coaxed into the right position. I am sure I will post up my horrible first build when it is done.

Harry - They have avalanches in Montana. My wife and I want to retire out west. "Away from people" is how she puts it.

Black, white or a combo of the two are what you would usually see.

Texas has had several bad floods in the past year. Its been crazy there.

I am pleased that last night I got more than 2 hours of sleep (got about 6). I have a few bad vertebrae in my back and every now and then they let me know they are still there. Been averaging 2-3 hours of continuous sleep a night for the past week or so. I woke up somewhat refreshed this morning and went to work in good spirits. I am pleased with that.

Seems a lot of us share some common interests, but we all seem to have some 'wildcard' hobby that lets us break away from the pack.

I like it! I have 2 of these in 1/1, so I really like to see these builds.

My boss does woodworking as a hobby. He has built some amazing things. He has an entire 2-car garage full of tools and says he needs more. I did actually enjoy building (the very simple) workbench I intend to use for modeling. Wife likes it too and now I get to build one for her crafting. I like to shoot guns, never had a desire to be a gunsmith though. I collected Ruger revolvers in the 90's had a few NIB models from the 60's and several consecutive serial number guns. Sold them all in the early 2000's. That was one hobby I actually made money on when I got out. Wasn't much into home audio, but I did have several car systems that were worth more than the vehicles they were installed in. I would love to go after my pilots license, but the wife says no way. Her retirement plans include me and she says I am too accident prone. She may have a point.

I never even thought to rebuild a kit when I was younger. I wish I had kept all the old kits from my youth. Seems like I could have saved a lot of money. I remember buying new kits for $5.

Here in Maryland, it is said there are coyotes in every county. There is not a lot of open space left (at least in my area), so wildlife encounters rise every year. The bear population has been increasing so there are more and more suburban sightings. Coyotes are very opportunistic, now that you have seen one you know to be more vigilant. So far I have not seen a coyote in my yard, but I have had a fox on my back deck looking in the back door. If you continue to see it, I would see about getting a trapper to come and get.

What other hobbies does everyone have? I have pretty much had an aquarium of one sort setup since 1981 or so. In 2006 I started noticing some awesome aquarium photos and decided I needed to learn how to do that. Then I decided I needed to try and photograph everything. Why do hobbies end up being so expensive

Moving the headlights closer was worth every painstaking step. Well done. Can't wait to see if you made the bumpers look like the urethane ones. I sold a damaged urethane front bumper for $750 back in the early 90's. Wish I had it back now though.

I saw the title of the thread and was "why a 62 Dart". Now I think I want the real car, it would be the ultimate street sleeper. As I am just starting back into the hobby, I love seeing all the detail that goes into a proper build. Really appreciate when the builder explains how they did it. Thanks!

Just wanted to say hello. I built my last model car when I was a teenager (a very long time ago). Just getting back into the hobby. I feel that I finally have enough patience to properly paint and build kits. Time will tell I guess. I am currently setting up a dedicated workbench in the basement. I am sure to have plenty of questions as time goes on and this will undoubtedly allow me to meet other like minded folks. One of my other hobbies is photography, so figured I would post a photo of mine (let's me test linking photos on this board).
