  1. He committed to his passion and now it is going to help a lot of other people. Once they figure out how to sell it. After the cars (toys and real) are gone, the church has the house that they could possibly setup as a shelter.
  2. I have been doing a little work on the '55 Chevy while I wait for paint to come in. To be honest, I have never done more than spray an undercarriage black, so I am looking for some detail advice. I know the gas tank should be a silver color. Does the spare wheel well stay in primer? What about where the floor plan turns up at the front of the car? A quick Google search didn't turn up very many factory stock photos of the undercarriage, which is what I am shooting for (or at least as close as my skills will get me). This is what I have so far. I tried masking the frame and had a lot of difficulty with the tape, so I just free handed it with a brush. Any tips or advice will be much appreciated.
  3. There are some awesome photos and stories in this thread!
  4. Looks like you are off to a good start. Kit does have a good amount of detail.
  5. The lines don't flow very well. Not as easy to take a 1:1 builder back to stock. That one is pretty much ruined. Better put it on Ebay and see what they can get for it.
  6. I know this guy, Gary, that has one, but it might cost you
  7. In Mannix, all I ever see are the cars. He had some cool rides.
  8. That is an amazing view to wake up to.
  9. Nicely done. I like the color, it makes the build unique. I am in the minority. I like these cars. I own two 1:1 versions (1 big block and 1 small block).
  10. Beautifully executed. I cannot imagine the work that went into the wheels. If you were to own a 1:1 Ferrari, this would be the one to have.
  11. Slowly plugging away. Interior has a few coats of Tamiya Champagne Gold that I did not like (came out far more silver than gold). Put a single coat of Tamiya Light Sand Metallic over the Champagne Gold. This was a lot closer to what I was trying to achieve. Should be painting the body sometime this weekend.
  12. Tom - One man's junk is another man's treasure trove of much need slant six model parts.
  13. I think they only paint NASCAR engines when they are trying to hide something
  14. The filter material they use is the same stuff that is used in aquarium filters. Check around and you can get bulk filter material pretty cheap. Just have to cut it to size.
  15. Looks like the 1:1 car sites call it light or medium green / dark green. Will have to look at a few paint samples to try and match. Thanks for the help. I have saved a few reference photos.
  16. Already on the Neptune Green. Like you said, all my research only showed the green interior. What would the darker color be?
  17. I have always liked that color combination. I bought this airbrush and compressor for a reason, may as well learn how to use it. Thanks for the info. I had heard of Scale Finishes, but not MCW.
  18. Starting to plan out my next build. Does anyone know a source for 1955 Chevy colors, Harvest Gold and Indian Ivory. Would prefer a rattle can, but can shoot it from my airbrush if needed (after a lot of practice). Is there something that is pretty close to those colors and readily available?
