  1. It could be worse.... There is a private school by my house. Grades 1-5 is $18k a year and it goes up to $22k per year for high school age children. International students pay an additional $50k for boarding per year. There is a list of things that are and are not included in the tuition fees. They do not nickle and dime the parents, they $50 and $100 them. I believe there is a waiting list to get into the school.
  2. I have seen you guys talking about "Reverse Image Search" and had no idea what it was. Just Googled it. Wish I knew about this years ago.
  3. How many kits are there for cars from the Trans Am Racing Series? How many street cars can be easily converted? Is there a list of aftermarket resources for the conversions. Road racing is one of my favorite forms of auto racing. While I was to young to appreciate Trans Am when it was around, I do love to watch the old video footage. Those guys were always on or over the edge when racing. I have a vision of a long term diorama with a Trans Am starting grid or a group of cars going into a turn. So I am just trying to compile some information so I can be on the lookout for items I will need. 1970 would be my preferred year, as I am a bit partial to the Mopars of that year.
  4. I like this VW better than the Chevelle.
  5. Very nice Duster!
  6. Was in Ollie's today, no new models, but I did find some nice automobile coffee table books though. Do yourself a favor and walk into the book section. I see lots of future builds I would like to do.
  7. Stance is perfect. Thanks for sharing.
  8. '59 El Camino rat rod. Couldn't get a photo of it because of traffic and all the rain we were getting.
  9. I don't think any of mine got finished This is a great thread!
  10. I can remember having side by side hot wheels tracks with loops, Evel Knievel stunt bike and Guns of Navarone giant playset.
  11. I thought the bodies were painted off the frame. That would mean they were primed and then hand sprayed before they got joined to the frame or was this practice replaced before 1955. No brake or fuel lines on this chassis, but thanks for the pencil tip.
  12. He committed to his passion and now it is going to help a lot of other people. Once they figure out how to sell it. After the cars (toys and real) are gone, the church has the house that they could possibly setup as a shelter.
  13. I have been doing a little work on the '55 Chevy while I wait for paint to come in. To be honest, I have never done more than spray an undercarriage black, so I am looking for some detail advice. I know the gas tank should be a silver color. Does the spare wheel well stay in primer? What about where the floor plan turns up at the front of the car? A quick Google search didn't turn up very many factory stock photos of the undercarriage, which is what I am shooting for (or at least as close as my skills will get me). This is what I have so far. I tried masking the frame and had a lot of difficulty with the tape, so I just free handed it with a brush. Any tips or advice will be much appreciated.
  14. There are some awesome photos and stories in this thread!
  15. Looks like you are off to a good start. Kit does have a good amount of detail.
  16. The lines don't flow very well. Not as easy to take a 1:1 builder back to stock. That one is pretty much ruined. Better put it on Ebay and see what they can get for it.
  17. I know this guy, Gary, that has one, but it might cost you
  18. In Mannix, all I ever see are the cars. He had some cool rides.
  19. That is an amazing view to wake up to.
  20. Nicely done. I like the color, it makes the build unique. I am in the minority. I like these cars. I own two 1:1 versions (1 big block and 1 small block).
  21. Beautifully executed. I cannot imagine the work that went into the wheels. If you were to own a 1:1 Ferrari, this would be the one to have.
