  1. Check out carmodel.com they have a few small scale Oldsmobiles on there.
  2. If I understand correctly. It looks like you could trim the tape around the edge, where the rubber would be, after you painted the door. Leave the tape on the clear part of the window, mask the painted door and then paint the rubber portion.
  3. I agree that the zoo had to shoot the gorilla. I am sicked that they needed to make that decision. There is no excuse for that child falling into the exhibit. I bet the mother even put him on top of the wall.
  4. Just a little more filling, sanding and shaping and you will have it. Looks good.
  5. Remember to get the side of the hood painted and remember every piece of the kit has a mold line. A quick scuff with a sanding stick right after you cut it from the tree is usually all that is needed. Some of this is trial and error. Everyone has their own way of doing things. I have just been doing what I think is right and so far there are 3 or 4 things I will do in a different order next time. You will find what works for you. Look at everything, come up with a plan. At the end of the build see what worked and what didn't. Make changes to the plan for your next build.
  6. That is a very nice space. Not going to lie, I am a little jealous.
  7. I will play Devil's advocate. We focus on the car side of things. I have seen lots of kids buying Gundam kits and war gaming figures in my LHS. I have even overheard one of the employees tell someone in the store that those sections of the store is where most of their money is made. There are kids in the modeling hobby, they just found their own niche. We can hope that they gravitate to the car side as their interests change. There needs to be something in the car aisle that appeals to them when that happens. We, on this forum, are a small concentrated percentage of the market. There are lots of builders out there they do not know this board exists and there are those that do not care. How many of us commit to buy 10 kits a month at our LHS? If we all did that, then we may have a larger voice in what should and should not be built. We are a fraction of the overall market. I just don't know what that fraction is.
  8. I have a lot that I like, but my all-time favorite is the 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda Convertible. As I have gotten older, I would prefer it to have an automatic transmission bolted to either a Hemi or 440.
  9. I vote for finishing it too We need to come up with a cool name for it, like El Gato or something.
  10. Very nice. Makes me want to add these to my wish list of future builds.
  11. I have learned to just take it slow and easy. Give things time to dry and you will be much happier with the results. I really like these older Vettes. Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.
  12. Fine detail that should show very well with this model.
  13. Thanks so much for the info. Doesn't have to be exactly like the photo, just looking for a vintage ramp truck to display some cars when I get them done. I just really like the look of 30's thru 40's trucks.
  14. Amazon has this line listed. No grays or blacks. Purple was the darkest color.
  15. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
  16. Thanks Rusty. I will see about fixing the frame color issues. I did the tops of the shocks blue only to provide a little more contrast, hoping they could be seen a bit easier when the body is on.
  17. Chassis is nearly complete. I have to fiddle with one of the exhaust pipes to get it to line up with the manifold. I may try my hand at weathering, to break up the undercarriage flaws, as mentioned previously. I also undertook the daunting task of applying decals to the body. I found that chore to be a bit nerve wracking, but in the end I am happy with the result. Just waiting on another shade of paint so I can do the two-tone interior. BTW - OptiVisor is the greatest invention ever.
  18. I just looked at some photos and it does look like they could be from the Muster Koach.
  19. I think you nailed it! Thanks for sharing.
  20. In the Aftermarket/Resin section, pinned at the top, is a list of companies and individuals that make and sell parts. You can also search eBay for older vintage parts.
  21. Excellent! That is the solution we were looking for.
  22. Are there any kit versions of old ramp trucks similar to this?
  23. You are limited when you upload photos directly to the site. You can use larger photos if you host them on a site like Photo Bucket. They have a FREE program and I believe the PRO is only $25 per year. There are plenty of tutorials on how to use it, if you are interested.
  24. It looks like you pull the lever for the fire suppression system. It seems to be positioned within reach of the driver.
