  1. Thanks guys! Can't wait to get started on the Orange car with the Z28 CAMARO graphic on the sides next...
  2. Adding some final details to the first Camaro in the Monogram series... here are some of the first "show" photos of the car and my Rampage Camaro as well as two more build-ups from a few years back. Have a good one! thanks for looking!
  3. I've been working on redesigning and resizing (for the 1:16th car) the art on the decals for the 57 Bicentennial Vette. I love the box art on that car...
  4. I'd say as a standard Camaro with Hugger Orange would be unique... those resin wheel covers would be cool with some white walls and go complete opposite of the Z-L1 and go with the 6cyl ?! Also You have learned the most important part of building this kit! Not only do you not have to glue the firewall, Rad support, or the interior to the chassis... the rear lower valance is an interference fit as well!... goes in after the chassis... I hope everyone is taking the information in... I can be long winded sometimes (sorry) but this will pay off when you go to build the kit yourself...
  5. A wise old school modeler once told me that each model part is a model within a model. I totally understand what that means because every part can be detailed therefore becoming it's own model. I've applyed that wisdom to my building over the years. I've had build-ups of these camaros and it seems everyone has everything in the engine bay glued and painted black. I know the reason probably is because #1 the directions say everything is black and #2 Realistically this is how it looks on a real factory stock Camaro. I just think a little contrast on the Model is a better detail. Just shows better IMO, I think if you pick 3 Black finishes (flat, gloss, and statin) with everything painted separately in the engine bay, it would look better for a stock look. Since this is a Customised street machine, I went with as much contrast as I could. This allows you to see the details. Quick tip: During final assembly do not glue the Raditor support to the chassis assemble the body and chassis then add the Radiator support from the left side... Interference fit will hold it in place No glue required.
  6. I've probably built 50 of these through the years. I painted one Chezoom teal. I didn't put white stripes on mine but I think they would look nice with this color. Just a suggestion... I'll be looking in on the build, I'm intrested to see what you do with it.
  7. Box art for the "Cream Machine" ...
  8. I had some distractions that led to me not finishing the Cream Camaro over the weekend as planned but I'm just about to touch down with it here soon. and I'll be firing up the Orange Box art next. I'm still working on gettin the twin turbo set up figured out. but this is how she's gonna look when done. I was tempted to put that CB radio on the dash but I just haven't desided yet. Thanks for everyone's support and more to come.
  9. Easily the Nicest built AMT 60 Apache that I've seen... This is how the BoxArt should've looked... I'm dissapointed that with all the colors they chose purple to represent the Round 2 re-issue... should've been two-toned. These trucks were deliberately designed with two tone paint in mind. if you think about the differences between the 59 and 60 you'll see there are not many breaks on a 59... 1960 was a turning point when trucks started being as stylish as cars, you can see the similarities between the 60 imalpa and the pick-up for 1960 too. This is my favorite bodystyle of the Chevy trucks.
  10. Daniel Son, You have mastered the art of another great build... lol! I can't beleive you hadn't built this one before now though...
  11. Yeah the Vette Snake!... I gave up on mine when that front wouldn't line up... Here is my 69 Chevelle that stalled out around 2013... Been thinking about fitting the Revell Chevelle chassis to it. Body is done and the rest could be inspiring as I have yet to stick glue to the 68 anyway... Onward march!.... That's ironic!...lol my birthday is the 21st so I could make that my deadline, if the Revell deal seems to comlicated I'll use plan B, the original frame and interior... This will be a Replica of a 1.1 car that used to Cruise in my home town. It was a real SS 396 car but the BB was replaced with a Beefy Smallblock and 4speed with Parchment interior. Steve had "brushed centerlines" on it.. I loved that car! and I had one built up like it when I was a teen. Time to build it agian!
  12. I know you could get it done...for some reason yours turn out way better than my Glue bomb rescues do... I alway end up stripping them down, all the way down and starting completely over. (The Blazer) beautiful paint just didn't like the color (Purple from Boyds) should've left it alone.. nope not me! lol
  13. That may have been suitable for me in the 90's but the 55 Chevy guy in me is screaming Blasphemy! Now lol! I don't know what I'll do with this one but with the new kit out I may borrow some stuff from that kit... the paint is too thick also Testors Sapphire blue... it was an airbrush testing experiment. I want to say that was the first issue of the 55 post? Experiment on the brand new kit, That's a great idea! Never got any further!
  14. You know I'm in... I've got so many... I'm trying to find one with the least amount of work... cause I'm still working on the Revell Camaros and in about a month I'll have to get my competition car done for the MDA show in March. Quick story I want to share with everyone on the topic of dead projects. How about 30 or so kits that haven't seen the light of day in over 16 years? That's right, been in an attic since 02-03... About 4 years ago I had a Clarke welder for sale, my cousin caught wind and wanted to buy the welder but he didn't have the $250 that I wanted for it. So since he's family I proposed a deal... His model collection for my welder... sounds simple enough? only problem was the models were in an attic of a house that he didn't live in anymore. The house is occupied by his stubborn brother-in-law who really don't get along well with the family and prefers to be left alone. To make a long story short, While my cousin is using my welder I have been waiting on my models for 4 years... One of my New Years Resolutions was to take it apon myself and seek this guy out. Two weeks ago I showed up to his house, without notice, Never met the guy before then, and totally unaware what I was walking into...he's a bit of a recluse but I somehow charmed him, told him the story, and got him onboard to go up and look for the kits for me... he called me this morning to come get my models. Winning! They are some stalled projects, some of which are mine from almost 30 years ago that I gave to him and he didn't touch... I'm not sure if any of these will make it here but I do plan on resurrecting these in the future!
  15. I have so many dead projects... I know I'll need encouragement by the end of the year to get them done. But this is the most beautiful stalled project I ever seen! It doesn't look like it's far from finished. love the color too!
  16. Always look forward to your builds... just when I couldn't think of any more movie cars...Here is one more... Nice one too!
  17. I'm digging both builds... the thing is... those 68 Chevelles are hot right now and I've been seein some nice builds on the Group pages. 2 or 3 week builds look like 6 month builds, these guys are dedicated... So, as much as I'm anticipating the Baldwin motion 68 I want to see this one too. I've already seen how nice the 68 is built up. I think we're all guilty of starting mutiple projects. I'm leading the pack no doubt.
  18. Awesome Start! I'll be taking ques from this build definitely...
  19. That hood turned out perfect! I'm impressed with the work goin on here!
  20. Define Irony? The day after posting in this thread, I got a text from my cousin with these two pics of a familiar Nova in his garage. He just bought it last Saturday. It has a 632 cu.in. Big block with 900 HP on pump gas... I see a another build On the workbench in my future...
  21. Great Work goin on! Yes, Snake is right... but on the model I just sand it completely out because otherwise it looks unfinished to me. I love old photos of cars from the 50's 60's and 70's. This photo is so cool and I believe there used to be a 69 in my area that looked alot like your mom's. I read an article a few years ago about a senior in Highschool who bought a 69 new, Him and his car disappeared a week later... olny to be found at the bottom of the lake 40 years later... Sad story but the article had photos of him and the car the same day he went missing. I want to build a kit in honor of his dream. He was a grocery store clerk only 16 that saved every penny to afford the car but never got to enjoy it.Here is the article... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2425971/amp/Remains-rusting-car-pulled-Oklahoma-lake-belong-teenagers-went-missing-40-years-ago.html
  22. Oh No! I don't have any of those parts... lol! I had a pair of those nasty seats, a shifter and the decals... I'll have to dig out all my Pro Stock junkyards and go hunting. I think the Dobberton Pontiac may have some stuff if I recall...
  23. That is Awesome! thanks for the information... I was wondering how I could get the set-up to look more accurate. Maybe the duel carb set-up would be easier to pull off too. any suggestions on what parts to use?
  24. I did on the trunk and spoiler but because the original decals are so old they were a little stiff. They broke on me a little here and there on the upper valance panel had to touch it up with paint. ? But now that I have clear on them they seem to be ok. I used a razor and made a tiny cut and used some decal set and clearcoat on a toothpick to push them down into the door seals. Look better now Snake?
