Shaun,I bought this kit 20 years ago and I paid $39.55,i have seen the wagon pop up on Ebay, but like Bumblebi said they are very pricey now.
-
Thanks 935K3,i think this kit sat in my stash so long is,i just couldn't find a color i liked, then i came across the electric blue paint and had a AHA moment!
-
The shocks and a couple under chassis parts were painted with Tamiya semi-gloss black and guards red,I should have some more updates in the next couple days
-
I painted the chassis body color as well, the engine block, the brakes and the front suspension were painted with Plasti-kote Cast Aluminum, but still need more detail painting. The rear suspension was painted Tamiya Gloss Aluminum.
-
So after scribing the body lines deeper,i then used Vallejo Model Wash and then masked off the body trim and put on a couple coats of primer, then 5 coats of the Electric blue paint. It looks dull cause there is no clearcoat on it yet.
-
Since my Miata was so close to being done,i decided to start this kit a couple days ago,it's been in my stash at least 20 years. The plan is to paint it Chrysler Electric Blue, not a stock color, but I think it will look good.
-
Here's a couple with the roof on,still not happy with the taillights, but I'm tired of fighting with them! the hardtop is just waiting for some clearcoats, when it's done I will post pics with the hardtop on.
-
Pictures of the finished car:paint is Nissan orange Mist, with a dark tan/sand beige interior, kit goes together very well,no real issues to mention.
-
Well after 4 repaints of the taillights and 2 repaints of the hardtop,i'm calling it done!photo's will be posted in the Under glass section next.i just want to thank everyone for their comments and for looking in on my build.

The Raptor and the pace car really interest me,but I swear that the Fast and Furious car is the AMT car pictured?am I wrong?
-
That looks impressive!,i'm sure this buildup will help sell a few extra kits!are the plans to build this stock?
-
That really looks good!,hard to find fault with any of it!,hope they sell a million of them!

Nice work so far,i built this kit last year the only issue I had was the wheels were very wobbly when I attached them to the metal axles. -
Boy that looks good! I can't wait to snag a few of these.
-
Wow! that looks amazing!.you do some incredible work!.

The windshield is masked and painted,i'm trying out dipping it in future for more a cleaner look, hopefully it will turn out and be dry for tomorrow. Here are a couple pictures of the body glued to the chassis:

Thanks guy's for the compliment's! ,a few updates for today:put on most of the decals on the body,it's hard to see them as they are pretty small,i,used BMF for backing on the front and rear marker lights as well as the third brake light, instead of the decals, then painted them with Tamiya clear orange and clear red then covered them with a dab of future floor polish, thought it looked more realistic.
-
That's got to be Real.
-
Finally, most of the black trim painted on the body,i used flat black paint again with a couple light coats of semi gloss clear, the front is taped up as I'm trying to mask the area where the headlight buckets need to be paint chrome.Any comments or questions feel free to ask!
-
Next up some pictures of the completed interior, the tub was painted sand beige, then given a couple coats of dullcoat to kill the gloss, the door panels were again painted dark tan with flat black and given a couple coats of semi gloss clear.
-
After some delay's,i'm back with some updates:the completed dash, painted dark tan and flat black, then given a couple coats of semi gloss clear. In pictures I've seen on the net the steering wheel had a emblem/decal in the center, but the kit had none,so i found a decal similar and cut it to fit, think it looks ok.
-
Nice work so far.

I have this kit coming in the mail tomorrow, was thinking about stripping it and repainting as well, how are the mold lines on the body and parts?
-
I remember building this kit years ago,it's a good kit and I agree with Sledsel about the missing upper shock mounts and I thought the air cleaner was a little undersized as well.
