  1. Gotter done! Yeah its a bit late, finished @1:23ct but it must still be Tuesday somewhere! Wished I had started working on it when this round 1st started as there was more doodads & detail I had wanted to include. When I dug this out of the crypt I thought is was nearer done it was. ? Still I'm happy with the result.I did add rub rails(?) Comments, suggestions welcome.
  2. Nicely done Gwolf! (Another kit I want to build) I'm working hard to complete my project b4 midnight. With any luck I will. I feel somewhat like Tom in that there are changes and doodads I would like to & had planned to do but had forgotten about, mostly fog lights and an after market console, parts that would require scratch building. However I have decided to move ahead and giitter done w/o theses features. As I have several Caravan projects going on, I may go back & add these features as I move along. Pics tonight, I hope...
  3. I have to agree the weathering is perfection! It looks like the real deal in the outdoor shots. Fantastic!
  4. Turned out great! This is a model I've been wanting to build for a long, long time, especially being a slant 6 fan. Seeing your build is inspiring!
  5. Very nice! I like the stance!
  6. Your paint & detailing of the interior look fantastic!
  7. Thanks, Andy. Pickups , it would seem to me, would be a lot more user friendly with the all around lower bed that this fwd platform would provide. You certainly wouldn't need a staircase tailgate!
  8. CaraRam! I have decided on the model name. Current project will be the CaraRam. I also have other projects in mind; CaraGlam (custom pickup) and El Carnero (pickup w/unaltered quarter panels & outer tailgate "sheet metal"). I even have a race car in mind if I ever get that crazy & Rambitious!?
  9. Finally I have an update & pics! (Camera & computer not getting along ?). I have been fighting & procrastinating over extending the "belt line" to the bed sides. I had envisioned a smooth side bed, however the belt line just fell into place and after several attempts at ignoring the obvious to achieve a smooth side, I finally relented! I added back up lights & removed the character lines from the tailgate. It is ready to paint at this point. Will post more pics then. Comments, suggestions welcome.
  10. Wow! A Tucker hot rod ! That's something you don't see every day.
  11. No progress here. Been concentrating on the pickup conversion...
  12. Me too. I'm crazy about the '60-'61 Dodges (& MoPars in general). I purchased both HT & wagon versions of '60 & '61 Dodges from Modelhaus. I started the '61 Wagon years ago(very little progress) , a Polara that I plan to convert to a Dart Seneca to replicate one I once owned. My folks bought a new '61 Polara 4dr, red w/ a white top. I was wondering if you plan to correct the speedometer? The "translucent" speedometer is, to me, one of the coolest features of these cars & I would like to figure out a way to better represent it.
  13. Very interesting... The profile of the now front fenders is reminiscent of the late '40s - early '50s (bullet nose) Studebakers. Don't know your plans for taillights, but the old headlight buckets might house the large round taillights used on some years of Matadors(?) GOOD LUCK!
  14. I have at least 6 of these kits, ht. & conv. in different colors. I haven't built any yet & wondered how well they built up. I don't recall seeing any built or reviewed before, so I wondered if they were junk or what. I may now have to get 1 out and get it on a shelf! Thanks for the review & build tips!
  15. Thanks Mike. I agree the front is much too flat (& bumper too wide). Its as if some one tried to make a 3 dimensional object appear 2 dimensional! Also, the "greenhouse" looks too long & the rear deck too short. If the greenhouse were shorter it would put the door in a little better perspective. Its for sure something is quirky with its proportions.
  16. Excellent weathering!
  17. I am farther along than I remembered. Although it may not look it, its been painted Chrysler Bright White. (Everything on the '98 I owned was white except the window trim, drip rails{?} & the rub strips on the roof.) Mostly painting the black trim around the windows & assembly is all that's left to do. I may attempt to scratch build a pair of fog lights. Perhaps not a real challenge for a round, but I seem to get so far along on a build & never finish. This thread give me the excuse to gett'r done. Here it is next to the pickup project
  18. Oh yeah. Been a year since I worked on it. Pics on the way. Extracting it from the coffin today.
  19. As I am deep into a conversion of a Caravan to a pickup, I may as well pull a stock Caravan from the crypt & finish it. So I will offically submit the stock Caravan for round 7. It will be representative of the '98 I once owned. With any luck they will both be completed by the deadline.
  20. The weathering looks great! I have been wanting to try my hand too. Maybe some day...
