  1. Okay, here goes on the Montana Hardcore rattle can after a little time working on it: Bought at the chain Ace Hardware about $6. Haranga Orange. It markets it self as for large art displays and graffiti artists. Nothing on the can or site about appropriate surfaces. Temp was 71F and 26% humidity. Sprayed over non primed white model car hood and it smelled a lot like a lacquer but was thick like enamel. Very opaque. Almost a grainy appearance. After 24 hrs I tried rubbing the single coat out with Mequire's mirror glaze 205 ultra finishing polish with a cotton terry rag. No. real improvement. After 24 more hours same materials. No real improvement After 24 more hours same material, a bit better. I guess it is more Enamel than anything else and I have rushed it. I like the price, opaqueness and variety of colors but have been spoiled by Tamiya rattle cans. I don't have the patience now to correctly deal with slow drying paint. Hope this helps those interested.
  2. Love it! The original Goat. Checking out the TriPower carbs too.
  3. Great 64! Trying to read the engine emblem on the front fenders------is it 390 or 427?
  4. Saw this and the unusual color availability and bought my first can and will try it out this weekend if weather is okay. Anyone have experience with this?
  5. Looks seriously fast. Super!
  6. Remembering back in the day a silver one with the 421 emblems on the fender in my home town. Some one in the know said that "Something that big should not be that fast!" They even had 3 two barrel carbs (Tri-Power) as an option.
  7. Good looking Mark 5. That's the one GTI kit that I don't have. Love the GTI's I drive the 1:1 for several years.
  8. Goodness, Gracious! Built a 1/8 scale Pocher Alfa Romeo in 1978. Forgot about the size of these models. Did not know this kit existed.
  9. Absolutely agree on the need for a model of the incredible new C8 mid engine Corvette! Decades in the making and road tested by all the magazines. What is holding this up!
  10. Home Run. Super idea to have the gold stripe running over Wimbledon rather than the usual black. Loving the engine bay too.
  11. Checking out the good looking engine bay with the perfect dual snorkel air cleaner covering the dual quads.
  12. Psycho is over the top! Never thought about having the entire body raise up, not just a flip front. Loving the big injection stacks.
  13. Thanks for the wheel painting tip skymnky
  14. Really good ? Like the idea of a blue with the blue stripe as an option instead of white with the blue stripe. Clean. When I get around to mine, I hope my wheels turn out good like yours. Thinking that getting the black deep down between the spokes is going to be tough.
  15. I'm going to do redlines as well when I do my build. Looking good. I also ordered the 421 emblems for the front fenders in photo etch but disappointed in them as the photo etch company accidently produced 2 of the same side emblems. The passenger side and the driver's side are different on the real car. All these years of hoping for a source for 62 through 64 style 421 emblems and they messed up.
  16. Loving the oval air cleaner on the 3 carbs. This would have been the hot setup option that year.
  17. I would like the Alfa' Romeo Spider anywhere 1974- 1986. I actually owned 3 of those 1:1 scale back in the day. Sooooo popular world wide yet ignored by the mfrs.
  18. The person that hit your GP is in trouble forever!
  19. Thanks for the story. Lucky you to have that!
  20. Would love to be able to get a 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix Convertible including the 428 engine and the 428 fender emblems molded on.
  21. A perfect Goat. Looks like a showroom brochure.
  22. Check out the important 421 emblem on the fender just above the Champion Spark Plug decal. The kit manufacturer totally has to include that.
  23. Horrible! sorry for you on this. I was seriously considering buying this 911-was-
