  1. Well, the Blue Max did it's first model show a couple weeks ago and I am very pleased. I added the rest of the kit parts. I still need to add the plug wires. Most people diddn't realize it was a slot car until they read the description.
  2. A general rule with wheelie bars is five inches long max and position the wheelie wheels either inside or outside the track of your slicks. I run mine inside on my Blue Max funny car.
  3. Cool Chevy! Looks like the car from "Catch Me if you can"
  4. Good job on your Blue Max Hondo. I feel your pain with the decals. It took 2 sets on my Blue Max '84 Mustang slot car. I'm also building the '83 EXP Blue Max.
  5. Well, the Blue Max is done (I'll post pics later). I changed engines. It's now running a Group 20 .550 Big Block with 9/60 gears. It's best et is .988 and just today it hit it's best top speed at 66mph!
  6. Heyguys, I'm from Lincoln park, just around the corner from George! I'm a member of the DMCC and DAAM
  7. First test runs were sucessful. The car ran 1.27 at 51mph.

  9. Hi guys, I'm also in the Downriver Model Car Club. The club has been around for 18 years, I've been a member for 15 years. It really doesn't seem that long, I always look forward to our monthly meetings. I've made a lot of friends over the years.
  10. I put in a Pro-Slot Super 16D motor with an 11 tooth pinion, and a 56 tooth ring gear.
  11. My friend Joe (owner of Downriver Speedway) liked my concept Trans Am (the Kevin Morgan car with 1977 styling) so much he's having me build a different version of the concept for a slot drag body.
  12. Hey, thanks guys I tried it and enamel paint just falls off. Works much faster than scalecoat.
  13. Wow, real nice work, great finish on all of them!
  14. I love this car. All the proportions look right and it has teriffic lines. The back end especially with the split window and spired rear fenders. The wheel spats complete the look. I'm planning to build a car with a similar flavor but I'm starting with a Batmobile.
  15. WOW! Awesome design. It can be difficult enough doing a body section, chop, or a roof graft but scratchbuilding a complete body is incredible. It should make a sweet Vette, but it also reminds me of a McLaren.
  16. She came out real good! Nice job on the 2-tone too. I like it with the Viper suspension and drivetrain rather than stock just with the convertible top.
  17. Some of my favorites are the Monogram '78 Trans Am, Monogram '69 Charger, AMT '49 Merc, Monogram '69 Camaro, AMT '32 Ford, Monogram '58 Plymouth, modern funny car kits.
  18. Ford Boss 429- Ford pro-stock kits, Boss 429 Mustang Ford 427- parts pack, AC Cobra Chevy 427- '53 Ford pick-up, '68 Corvette Mopar 440- Monogram '69 Charger Mopar 392 HEMI- '41 Wyllis Mopar 426 HEMI- Model Master '69 Charger, most Monogram drag Mopars
  19. What's the best stuff to use to remove that new laquer paint without hurting the plastic?
  20. That thing is crazy, i love it!
  21. Looks good, nice detail, love the wrinkle wall slicks too.
