  1. Hi guys, my daily driver is a 2003 S-10 but I'll share my toys. I have decided to start building my favorite TV/Movie cars The Bandit K.I.T.T.
  2. Cool truck, awesome bodywork, and you were able to slice down the rear bumper without hurting the chrome, impressive!
  3. Wow man that thing is wild. Those rims are huge! I really like the pro street chassis. The body looks like a pro-modified drag body with everything molded in like that.
  4. She's comin togther, great choice for the grille. Looks sweet with the top finally on.
  5. Awesome car Tom! I dig the total mixing of two or more cars to create a new look (I'm building a few of them) I love the interior work too. I'll be looking forward to seeing this one come togther.
  6. Real nice looking Ford! I do dig the tri-power flathead. It fits with the custom bodywork.
  7. I think it's on track now, last time the roof sunk in after the putty work and was unrepairable. That was depressing.
  8. This thing is so darn cool, good job. I know I have a full work bench but your Starfire has inspired me to tackle an oooold stalled project consisting of a certain '33 Ford and space shuttle kit. I love the "Rough Boy" video
  9. No idea on color, I'm open to suggestions.
  10. Thanks Dr. it was a lot of searching to find the right roof line to rebuild the cars origional shape. Then after staring at it as to where to cut this idea came out. The idea I have for the rear end is to make a '51ish Merc tail with a phantom Continental kit trunk (Mark VII ish)
  11. Working on this car is kinda like getting dressed in the dark. I have a feel for it but I have no idea exactly what it will look like in the end.
  12. I'll be following this one. real nice work so far. looking forward to seeing more pics. check out my wild Merc build/rebuild. it's thread is '49 Merc Extreme Custom. (sorry I don't know how to link it)
  13. Great choice to save this one. Ireally like the color and those wheels. Can't wait to see that exhaust.
  14. BIG improvement! You smoothed the "stuffy" look out of the design. Love the top and hood design. Looking forward to seeing more.
  15. Amazing paint work Doc! Space Truckin sure fits this one. I'd call it Excellsior
  16. Thanks guys, the front wheels came from a Boyd Coddington kit and I believe the rears are Jada. I forgot to mention that the car will have a Chezoom frame also. I'm still up in the air as to the engine, seats etc.
  17. In looking for a doner car for a new roof the whole car took a new direction. I decided to go with a '67 Impala roof, but then it snowballed into not just the roof but the rear quarters as well. The new windshield is a layed back modified '49 Merc part. The Merc now has that "Coke Bottle" shape.
  18. This is a car I have had for many years. It has been the guinna pig for my crazy bodywork and was almost destroyed. In it's first incarnation I got it from the auction at my model car club. The top was chopped 4in and the body was sectioned 4in. The roof was unsavable so I grafted a new roof on made out of the chopped front half of a '49 ford and the narrowed bacl half of a Chezoom roof. I also layed the headlights back and pancaked the hood. For the rear I made the trunk lid from a Prowler trunk and hand fabbed the roll pan and sunken liscence plate. I could never get the curve of the roof right, it sagged in the middle and the tail lights were a mess. So the car got put aside for years and now I aim to redesign it. Here's what she looked like when I dug it out of the box after 7 years
  19. Very cool, I go for the crazy ideas that require a huge emagination and huge ammounts of bodywork. I really like the concept. The color scheme is very "Flash Gordon" or "Thunderbirds". It reminds me of a picture I was going to do in an art class. The teacher gave us a list of things we couldn't draw in that class, in that list were hot rods, space ships, and pin up girls. I was a bit bent out of shape and said I was going to do a poster size picture of 2 spaceship hot rods (like the ZZ Top Afterburner) drag racing, flagged by a pin up in a skin tight space suit. Unfortunately I never got the chance to do the drawing. It would make for a cool diorama.
  20. Awesome thread! It is a zen thing, i can disconnect from everything else and focus on just car stuff. I don't listen to the radio though, commercials distract and discourage me. I watch car movies. I can get lost in bodywork. I love pushing the limits of what can be done to customize a car. Recently I had zen in full size cars. My friends, my fiance, and my Dad prepped my dream car (1977 Bandit Trans Am) for paint. I completely lost track of time.
