  1. Fine, clean resto! Nice BFM work, something that bedevils me!!! -RRR
  2. Thanks, TIM!! -RRR
  3. I finished this awhile ago and I'm not real happy with the way it came out. My engineering was not up to my liking. I will keep it to myself as to what I don't like. I wasn't going to post it but with seeing all of the '30 coupes being posted, I figure, what the hay... Paint is a custom mix of the Testors Extreme Lime Ice and Emerald Green, making it 'frog green'. W engine from AMT, the two 2x3 intakes and carbs are from the Nailhead in the Revell '30 Coupe kits modified to fit the Chevy engine. Frog mouth scoops from RMCM with aftermarket chromed plating Interior door panels and seats from the Rat Roaster. '40 dash from the Revell 5ive window coupe. The roof opening was modified to look more like a stock opening, the insert is from the roof of a Revell '32 sedan. A bunch of other parts from the parts pile.... -RRR
  4. Well done times two! Beautiful work!!! -RRR
  5. Yep! Hits all the right spots. Old school all the way! One of my favorite old kits. A kit that definitely lends itself to rodding: https://public.fotki.com/jferren/30-model-a-coupe-87b/90kujy.html -RRR
  6. Nice work as always, Claude...I suppose the smoooothe look will come back around in style again some day. And yes, Mr. Coddington made a lot of friends and a few...well, nuff said. -RRR
  7. WOW!! Thanks, Tim! I hadn't seen this post until Kit Karson tagged me today on this thread. I love your builds and thanks for your kudos. I think we should all meet at the final GSL in SLC coming up on May. KK and I are planning to go. I hope many of us here can meet up. -RRR
  8. Adding my most recent '29 roadster build... -RRR
  9. OK, here, it's blue...Testors Extreme Icy Blue. Happy now??? ?
  10. Finished up some chassis fabrication work... Upper shock perch. Shocks from the Moebius Chevy II gasser kit.... Rear shocks, ladder bars and axle from the Moebius Chevy II gasser, springs from the Revell '57 Ford kit... I fabricated up a rudimentary steering setup. The original Henry J kit doesn't have any steering linkage and between that hunking Cammer motor and the headers there isn't much room... This one's off to the paint booth so we'll see Under Glass over there in a few weeks, maybe a couple of paint booth progress pix if I feel inclined.... Peace out...-RRR
  11. I have used Little Motor Kar Co 'chrome' plating services a couple of times. He does a good job and you'll get your parts back pronto. Unlike ChromeTech, who retired, you have to put styrene and resin on separate trees for plating. -RRR
  12. I fabricated a rear seat delete panel/package tray... I added some bracing to the roll bar... The engine has been finalized with pullies, fuel intake with pump and distributor driven off of a camshaft... Happy Froth of July to all... -RRR
  13. I added rear brakes from an MPC funny car kit. The axle is from the Moebius Chevy II gasser kit..... -RRR
  14. A little work on the chassis. The front suspension is from the newer Revell version of the Stone Woods and Cook '41 Willys while the rear springs are from the Revell '57 Ford gasser kit. I modified and trans mount and added a driveshaft loop to the rear crossmember. -RRR
  15. Yeah, I'm not really going for gasser class accuracy, the kit certainly has it's limitations! -RRR
  16. I picked up one of the new reissues of the venerable Revell Henry J kit, kind of on a whim. All of you of a certain age (I mean us olde guys) remember fighting with this kit as a kid to make it actually go together correctly. I was joking with KK, that these old Revell kits with ill-fitting body parts (Thames panel, Anglia, Orange Crate, this kit et. al.) were most likely responsible for thousands of kids stopping building models back in the 60s/70s... The challenge is, can I make a decent looking kit out of this one? Here's the 'yard sale' of parts... Wheels and tires from AMT, seats and some other parts from the Moebius Chevy II gasser, front axle from the Revell '41 Willys.... I found an old chassis with some nice tubs that will be used to bring the back end back down out of the stratosphere. Some cutting, fitting and sanding got the tubs in place... The Cammer is an AMT item I got on eBay. Several parts swaps will be made... I decided to glue the doors shut and glued the front fenders on to the body...making my challenge that much easier...LOL. I radiusized (is that a word?) the rear wheel wells and added a lip as well as adding some half round to the side spear... Thanks for looking, more later... -RRR
  17. Oh, I've not heard that term before. The 4-71 style oxidiser and manifold is from some random AMT kit. I cut off the snout (is that a technical term?) and most of the front cover and made the extension from Evergreen styrene. The belts and pulley are cut up form the old Revell Matt Hay pro street T-Bird. The extended engine compartment in these kits makes enough room for all of that. -RRR
  18. John- I'm not sure what you mean by the 'oxidiser'...? -RRR
  19. Thanks, Paul! -RRR
  20. Thanks for all of the kind words, gents.... -RRR
  21. Based on the Revell kit. -filled in the 'gaping maw' of the rear wheel wells. -full hood and sides. -powered by a blown 5.0L Ford with a T5 transmission. -wheels are the fronts from the Rat Roaster, rears widened to fit the '29 tires. -paint is Testors Extreme Turquoise shot through an airbrush, Tamiya white with Tamiya pearl white shot over the interior panels and seats. Thanks for looking.... -RRR
  22. Huh...then I should have another set.... -RRR
  23. Cool beans! I've never been on the Mt. Washington Auto Road. I climbed Washington several times have been on the cog railway. Looks like this would make a fast ascent! -RRR
