Skip: I owned two MINIs, did two Mini Meet West shows that were in Prescott. I was very active on the NAM forum. Never did the Dragon. I don't know if this will help, but I shortened one. Look forward to seeing what this will look like.

Very cool! Nailed the USFS green. My dad was a NPS Ranger, he patrolled with one of these, but it had the bubblegum machine on top. -

1969 C3. I have briefly checked out one forum. One member posted videos, he jacks up the back to bleed brakes. Then I watched another video from someone else, who swears the front needs to be raised, then I stopped watching. For someone who never was a mechanic (me), knowing the parts names is challenging enough, so I don't know who is blowing smoke. Another guy (Flagstaff trip) guessed the master cylinder is the problem, he showed me a unit with bleeder valves. Today I looked and no issue. I'm putting on Duralast calipers, lesson learned the hard way.

Appreciate the replies! I'm feeling stupid now for not taking advice from my housecall mechanic, he said the reviews for the NAPA brakes are terrible, and I don't wish to elaborate from there. Got two packages of these bungee cords for awnings. It wasn't until I opened the packages and noticed two cords without blue balls, then counted and found they just didn't come with them. I assume both had one missing, so I took one set back for a refund. Then I looked for another package and didn't find any. It's not like that's a bunch of money and time wasted, but the fact that company has bad quality control and maybe I should count every package contents, like are there really 100 screws in that box?

The joys of owning a 56 year old Corvette..... still fiddling with the brakes. When I drove to Flagstaff, pedal got softer, almost no pedal by the time I got back home. Been parked for a couple weeks. Today had a mechanic come over, discovered that THREE of the new NAPA calipers were leaking. The honeymoon is over.

The routine now is to have scattered showers mixed with one gully-washer that measured a half inch. That is Glassford Hill getting dumped on. Screenshot, I'm lower right on the edge of the red spot. Tonight it's calm and great temperature of 66ΒΊF. Texting with family tonight in Bellingham, WA, they need rain desperately.

Dare I admit it here, but I rode the school bus to the end of High School, yea, I didn't have a car and lived at the edge of town. Our favorite bus was occasionally used, think a '56 GMC, when the "new" Fords broke down. The driver was also retired, used for back-up. Second fav was the early 70s GMC "short bus". Mrs. Parks stomped on the brakes one time, and shouted down the jerks making trouble, that was actually funny and would get her in hot water today. And the Prescott Antique Auto Club is currently restoring the first school bus that the district had, a 1947 Dodge. So I'm giving you best of luck, from the back of the bus! What topic is this? Weather is over there Kurt. π Got half an inch of very much needed rain.

Any Other '69 Pontiac Owners?
89AKurt replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have the original engine for the '56 GMC pickup that I acquired recently, does that count? π They put a GMC sticker on it, and were made in Pontiac MI. -
My limited experience, ask whoever sells the aftermarket brand (such as Splash) paint what to do. I've used Testors since the Stone Age, their last Model Master line had a pearl that I used very lightly. I don't have good luck with thick coats most of the time.

Appreciate the smallest of things, could add up. Rained a bit today, but still took the Honda Civic to get a few pieces of flagstone to finish off this little project. I'm getting good at cutting with a chisel, and the grinder makes up for the lack of experience. Well, I should grout or caulk the big gaps. Pleased to beat the rain tonight.

Feels like Washington state today, all day cloudy, scattered sprinkles, lots of lightning south of me tonight. Loving it!

Trade school enrollment is way up...
89AKurt replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
For what my two cents is worth, I am a product of a Trade school. But it's complicated. Right after High School, entered a Tucson trade school, but when I told dad that I was helping to teach other students how to draw, he let me go to one in Phoenix. Only one year, they had a second year that they tried to rope everyone in to. Years later I was told to repay a student loan for the second year, which I did not attend, lucky I kept records, and come to find out the school was out of business. After moving to Prescott, I attended the local college for an AA Degree in construction, so that is the complication for this subject. They are experimenting with 3D printed houses, which is really just the walls. I never ever had a problem paying back my meager student loans; what Universities charge is a bloody crime. In the construction industry here, the lack of skilled trade workers is slim. Try to find an Architect and/or Engineer to do anything in a reasonable time. I could have kept working, but needed to get addicted to Prozac. IMO, just because you have a computer doesn't mean you know how to design a good structure. So now A.I. will do it for us, I can hardly wait /sarc off the charts/.
