  1. What he said. ☝️ The multiple exhaust tips is a clue? I find it amusing how many American cars come from the factory, with extra fake tips. Volvos kick butt at rallies, watched a few at the ones I worked on.
  2. Because I owned a '91 Jetta GLi, I did a Golf just because. I did the green Hella taillights! Made some other modifications too. But did a "normal" paint color (not colors). Will stay tuned.... (oh that's a bad pun ?).
  3. Pier 1 is going out of business in Prescott. Got another shelf unit (to the right), love being able to roll around. Can't see the row behind what you see here. Now I can buy more that I'll never build. ?
  4. Does a Cars & Coffee count? I see most pictures the cars are parked somewhere, all these drove to the parking lot. Buick Riviera. Porsche 914-V8 MG with V8. And......
  5. Following this one! ? I attended one Pebble Beach, had a headache at the end of the day from sensory overload.
  6. from Fukushima surplus
  7. I know right? But I'm always hoping for a car, there is (or was) a Ford Galaxy in the area. Saw a couple of spots with old trash, like it was a camp site. May have been left near that spot, mud washed around it. For clarification, that's all clay, commonly called "badlands" terrain, some rock layers interspersed is what makes this area fascinating. This is the Bisti Wilderness, south of Farmington, N.M. The wagon was about 3 miles from the car, it was about 95°F, and didn't have leather gloves. This is a hoodoo that looks like a jet to me. Anyway, back to toys......
  8. Can't recall the Tonka wagon, just saw this today on a death march.
  9. started doing stretches
  10. Many hot rods are built from an amalgamation of swap meet parts, so why not models? Love this!
  11. Gee, why do kits cost so much now? ? Hug a lawyer.
  12. That whole decommissioning operation is something else.
  13. First of this kit built that I have seen up close. What is the rear seat upholstery? I started this many years ago, what have I done? ?
  14. Nice to see another of these kits built and finished! Classic color too.
  15. Totally understand, be well and prosper. There are times I want to sell the house, get an RV, and get lost. I've reduced interest in the latest, greatest, most expensive cars coming out, reduces the clutter (there is another similar word verboten for use in public) in my head. I've also had spells of no interest in models.
  16. Huh, some time ago I would have honestly lamented any print magazine going under. But I stopped getting Road & Track, then AutoWeek around the time the economy crashed. I used to get Fine Homebuilding, but they started to lose their original vision. It was nice to get contest annuals, but most of the time the majority of a magazine did not interest me. I've evolved in recent years, prefer the choice of what I look at online, and being able to pontificate and add my two dollars worth (inflation since two cents). Also storage space is limited, have a stash of magazines I never look at, so what's the problem again?
  17. A millimeter at a time! Thanks! I won't think so until aluminum paint is successfully applied. Thanks. Actually, it wasn't hard, a new blade is always the trick, and resin is a little softer than styrene. Also grinding down the thickness, I used sunlight to see how far I was going, and the first holes were key to figure out the luminescence shade (does this make sense?) to know when to not wreck it. Still need to fold sandpaper and finesse a better finish. It's the repetition that's daunting, 99 bottles of beer on the wall....... Oh good. Some of the engine pictures I looted are of the D, so I can only use for color reference.
