  1. Great job! You addressed a pet peeve of mine, the headlights, brilliant solution. Glad you didn't do the extreme "stance". The steering wheel is excellent. Overall enjoyable read too. One of my daughters is very much into her Mazda and the Ricer culture, has her license plate bent, which I never saw before.

I better catch up here...... Thank you! Much appreciated! Thank you sir! Thank you Carl! ? I'm not normal. ? Thank you. And welcome to the forum!
  3. Nice of Peter to bump this up, haven't seen this before. Love the engine detailing. Of course I love the subject, even though it's not RED. ?
  4. My experience...... 1/24 resin wheels, mixed with 1/25 wheel backs, the tires are Italeri 1/24 that were Dremel ground bigger on the inside. They are not true to scale, but looks good enough to me! I rescued a 1/24 Corvette that was missing the engine, had the 427 in the parts box for decades. Only after I painted everything, and was putting the chassis into the body did I discover a problem. Searched for the '39 Chevy and found out it's 1/25. So I had to again use the Dremel to thin down the tunnel, and adjust the firewall. So I say it's a Huge Block. ?
  5. First time I have seen that product. I tried Micro Mark HO scale decal rivets, they are not silver. Good way to go insane.
  6. NOOooooo! ? That would leave a fuzzy edge, and paint would capillary under and really make a mess. Toothpick, sand the tip to the size of the rivets, dip in the upside-down lid of the paint, and take a deep breath and do the Ohmmmmmmm (yoga if you ever tried it). Clean after a few dabs with paper towel. Good luck! An alternate idea, if you want. I use a .5mm mechanical pencil, and aluminum tape (for ductwork). Retract the lead, punch the tape, click the lead out and press the little rivet into place. If you don't like it, easy to remove.
  7. Those are Pegasus wheels, don't think you can get them anymore. I used them on a project. Nice 510, like the flares!
  8. Of all the cars you picked to show, that's one kit I have! Jay is like a kid when he drives people's cars. ?
  9. Super nice build! The first picture looks real, showed my wife, who wondered why I was showing her a truck, then I told her. ?

  11. That is rally .... really sweet!
  12. Cable was cut. ✂️
  13. Nice to see a classic get done!
  14. Appreciate it. I like weird stuff. ? Thank you. Details can make or break a model, I could use all the luck there is. Don't get too excited, I've been busy with other things so progress might move like molasses is winter. There are some on eBay, but the prices.... ? No more than me! ?
  15. Can't go wrong with either idea, this is incredible! I'll be watching, since I have a long dead WIP Bugatti, might help inspire me.
  16. Base kit is the Otaki Lamborghini Cheetah, a basic motorized model that is sort of collectible. This vehicle was a prototype that Lamborghini created, in the hopes of landing a US military contract, several were built, only one survived. It had a Chrysler V8, not a Lamborghini engine, so I thought it would be wicked to sort of stay authentic with the Dodge Hellcat engine. There is some good reference material, a few of the most useful photos I'll post up front. Suspension was torsion bars. Looks like they made the bell housing going down to the transmission. What I don't see is a radiator, fuel tank(s), exhaust, so will have to make that up. Found this on eBay, since the box is damaged from either insects or water, and the instructions were missing, got a relatively good deal. This Cheetah thread is how ChrisR saved my butt with the instructions. Not going to use the motor, lights, or roof rack. I got the box scanned, and a copy done in B&W at 10%, so I could draw the plan. Many aftermarket parts are rounded up, have more coming. Iceman Collectibles Hellcat engine, got two, plus his VR6 engine. Today (10/10/2020) I had to start! This is unusual for me, to quick assemble the major parts to see how it goes together, good thing I did. First off, the parts (not including the electrical pieces): Typical motorized simple chassis. First part to glue on was the top "A arms" part. First time using the sprue cutter, ironic the handles are orange! Interior tub is stuck together. Engine cover put on, tub set in place. Obviously the battery compartment will be cut out. Already not liking the interior, it's shallow for the wiring and switches, that needs to be modified. At this point I see the shortcomings, the engine cover does not come all the way down, the roll cage interferes with the dash, and the tub has no positive locators so it has about 1/4" room for error. I'm going to put Countach taillights in, since they are industrial looking anyway, they should look 100% better than the kit units. Another shortcoming is the windshield does not go all the way down. The canvas top has a nice texture, but I'm putting in photo-etch mesh, I see some sort of brace telegraphing a shape, so will put in another tube on the cage. I see one thing that is shouting at me, the side grills do what? There is a ton of interior tub work to do, as expected. So it's not like I don't have any unusual WIP waiting, like the Mercedes G666 BenutzerdefiniertHinterntretenJadgAktenvernichterGeländewagenLimousine and Auto Union C - Vanderbilt Cup 1937. ?
  17. I didn't notice a problem. Just the previous owner cut the driver door out and still had masking tape on the roof for the sunroof shape, but it's not butchered. Wonder if it was a limited run because the mold lost locator pins or something?
  18. Iceman Collections engines, two Hellcat V8s, and the VW VR6. The Cheetah has won me over for getting all my attention lately. The Corrado is just a scarce interesting subject for me, who knows when that will get done. Same with the 300C, I have the photo-etch, got the dash chromed, now I can put the Hellcat engine in it, or maybe the Silhouette if I get a wild hair.
  19. I've always used steel brushes, looks like a toothbrush made for sharks.
  20. I'll be watching this. ? If you want, I made much more realistic door handles, but they aren't chrome plated. (somewhere in my WIP '69)
  21. I wasn't much of a fan when they were new, but time shows why he is considered a legend. Better than much of the music done today. RIP
