  1. to be filled That's more than an irk! You can edit that, then I will delete this part.
  2. This highway has the nickname Blood Alley. There was a run of head-on accidents, ADOT got Federal funding to get that high concrete median built, which made me have to U-turn now. Has anyone seen such a median anywhere else? It hasn't helped.
  3. ⬇️ ⬆️ Breads broken below the belt line are crumby.
  4. I took Amtrak from Chicago to north of me, a stop that has been dropped since, Williams Junction, several years ago. At first it was fun, but I hated it towards the end. The best moment was eating breakfast with an elderly couple, second best was getting off the train. Been there done that, never again unless it's a tourist day trip like the Silverton Durango narrow gauge.
  5. Funny that you asked! I don't take so many car show pictures anymore.
  6. Is it just Arizona, or is it happening everywhere? I've been seeing more fatal accidents, more stupid drivers being a menace on the roads, humanity is making the movie 'Idiotcracy' a reality. On my return from Desert Scale Classic, wanted to take the back way home. Got stopped at this scene, had to turn around. This was one of THREE in one week ORV wrecks that killed the drivers. I live off a busy highway, every time I go anywhere, I have to U-turn at two traffic lights. There are "smart lights" which are stupid, so people are running red lights more. This fatality was one of TWO in one week, the other happened at 2:30 AM, drunk driver blew through a red light while someone was doing a U-turn. I will admit to having a lead foot, but I could get snuffed out waiting to turn left.
  7. I'm cooking out, before they institute a fire ban for the summer. IMHO the only way to cook a steak is on Mesquite. I'm a very simple man, slab of meat, and sliced potatoes. I know a couple of spots where I can harvest the firewood.
  8. Just another sign that humanity is close to a breaking point of implosion. We are living in a very tenuous existence. Read an article about the ships that are specialized in fixing undersea cables, there are very few people who want to be on a ship while fixing something 2-3 miles under the surface. They are concerned about finding new people to replace them. Same with the construction industry, I'm retiring because of the building departments, and can see there aren't many youngsters willing to jump in. We are going to get to a point that the only jobs are fixing everything that is way beyond useable operational life, we cannot grow (like a virus, 'The Matrix') so much before this catches up and consumes humanity. Sorry for the very pessimistic world view, that's the curse of getting old. The day after my last flight on a Southwest 737, an engine cowling came off over Denver, next time I visit my grandson I'm taking the risk of driving among more idiots.
  9. Why is it always the cool looking parts that are junk? One of the few things I wanted to bling my '68 Chevy pickup with, was this Summit aluminum differential cover. The positrac gear set is gorgeous, wanted to give a hint that I'm improving my survivor sleeper. Soon as the first bolts held it in place, the humongous lack of following specifications showed up. ? When building a model, it's not a big deal because there isn't oil and needing to function.
  10. "Slicks" is when a donorcycle racing while splitting the line goes splat.
  11. Since AZ passed a law about lane splitting, I've been seeing more donorcycles. Not this extreme, but still dying for a Darwin Award. This is down the street from my mechanic, snapped the picture when walking to Circle K. Good way to accelerate rot is keeping the windows down. I was getting a positrac in the differential. Cougar makes it look like we time travelled.
  12. Bureaucrat's wet dream
  13. Foods fried furiously over flames of firewood fetched from forests far away.
  14. I've seen this Model A pickup parked on the south side of Prescott's Plaza before, was able to get a good picture. I'm a member of the Prescott Antique Auto Club, we had our first cruise night yesterday. I dig the Honda 600Z, it could fit in the bed of my '68 (recently put a new 350 HO crate engine in whoo hoo!!).
  15. Pantless hiking amongst Poison Ivy is not recommended.
  16. For my return home from Desert Scale Classic, wanted to take the back way. I saw an ambulance ahead of me, then came around a corner and saw this. I haven't seen a report yet, must have been a fatal, had to turn around. I see many cool cars around town, never ready to snap a picture. Jaguar XK-150? (side note, those milled recessed reflectors make great potholes later after prolonged wet weather) Today I drove the Chino Valley to Jerome narrow gauge railroad (1894 - 1920), a very rough road. Since this thread says "what did you see" I think it counts. ?
  17. This one only deserves ridicule in the American way.
  18. Bumpity bump..... DSC is tomorrow! I'm only doing the swap meet, nothing new built.
  19. If it doesn't come with the Things are better with Coke bumper sticker, I'm not interested. ?
  20. lizard's favorite tavern
  21. Eclipse by Mitsubishi. ?
  22. That is at a higher level, amazing!
  23. Envy is a tool for division.
