Looking real nice! -
trudging forward. Chassis is pretty much done. I did add a fuel line from the tank in the cabin thru the chassis and to the fuel pump.

I feel it's necessary to have articulating front wheels so I tossed out the front axle. Not really, its in the boneyard. For this I sawed off the backing plates and drilled out some parts tree for the joint and cut it in 3s. One for each side. I glued the center pieces to the front tubular axle. Then I secured the axle to the front leaf spring with pins. This piece is so delicate and would have never held together with glue alone. After this sets up, I'll mount the other joints to the backing plates. Until next time.

I finished up the engine. I took my time with this one. No slop and it runs super smooth and a lot quieter than the others. The video shows it spinning on less than half a volt. Now it's on to the chassis

Got some painting and assembly done. Am I to assume that little bump by the oil filter is the fuel pump?

I used pill bottles as wheel tubs a few times over the years. You gotta sand the shine off and good old testors did the trick for me both times. Looking good so far -
this is the Lincoln engine block. After I assembled it I ran a bead of hot glue down both edges on the top. Shes nice and secure now. I've started on the intake and heads (one piece). I've drilled holes for the plug wires and built a fuel rail for the 3 carbs. Pics soon.

I use a variable power supply on my bench 0-30v. I try to not feed too much power to the motor as they will get hot. Right now for the others I rigged up a couple portable power supplies. They consist of 3 double As and a switch. The enclosures are desk organizers I found at the home store. I covered the tops with wood grain contact paper. I wanted to provide a way to take them to the club meeting.

I haven't found a mini motor with enough torque to drive a belt and pulleys. I've tried it but it binds up every time. The key to success is take out as much slop as possible. Meaning use a short shaft and try to keep everything as straight as possible. And make sure to anchor the electric motor so it doesnt try to walk. I'm finding this to be very precise work. So if you try it, take your time. This one is number 5 for me.

inspired by @ModelcarJR, I started my kit tonight. I'm undecided which body to use I'll figure that out after I finish the chassis. but I do know since it has an exposed engine, I'm spinning the fan. At the time of this writing, it's the smoothest spinner to date. Engine block is now assembled.
