  1. The fuel cap sits on top of the tank - got to open the trunk to re-fuel …. This was 1949 …. Will the cap interfere with the trunk line ?
  2. Keeping the chassis plate w some improvements - here’s why -
  3. Nope - but ill remove about 1/16 fr the base of the tank - that should do it …
  4. This looks good - but will the trunk close ?!
  5. I like Pinto’s kits - haven’t built one yet - but i will …. If you get one of his early Ferraris I’m going to to tempt you with an engine upgrade … the fuel tank is being cut from two peices of Renshape - the Permi-grit file are good for sanding this stuff …
  6. Onward… the subframe that supports the bodywork is also clearly visible in the trunk - so ive made a plastic deck fr Evergreen and liquid glued .035 Evergreen rod to the deck with a few more details …. The curved rail is .08 lead wire - superglued - Bout time for the fuel tank …
  7. The “Wingrove” was a bit of an upset - the big scale builds by Derr and Jones were more in the Wingrove spirit - but i think the Judges wanted to reward some of the good 24th and 25th sc work in the last show - would love to have seen the judging sheets …
  8. With .. the label …
  9. This is getting funner and funner …. Its so cool to watch you and Nick on Britmodeler come up with different approaches to correct the failings of a 40 yr old kit - I’d love to post on Britmodeler but i seem to be in some sort of password hell w my user name …. Anyway - im concerned about skinning the body w latex - as i wonder if it will gradually change its shape - consider a very fine - like 8000 grade - sanding sheet - it has some flex - and you could finish it with a coat of suede finish spray paint for some grain …. Maybe - ?!!
  10. Justin - this is the kit - another one is on ebay currently for waytoomuch$$. Keep looking - you mite get lucky - i got lucky last yr - but not on ebay …
  11. Gracias JP Starting to prep the white metal parts in the kit - ill use about half of them - the head and tail lights are really good castings ..
  12. Gracias. This is better - ill have a smooth transition to the bonnett …
  13. My clamp says hi to your clamps - didnt these come in sets of 2? Can’t find my other clamp …. These things get Social Security …
  14. The Barquetta body was riveted to a sub-frame - the frame members are visible on the sides of the driving compartment - and in the trunk - these frame members were made fr .040 Evergreen …
  15. Here’s the fix - .010 x .155 - Evergreen strip - 2 of em - and some putty - 3M - …
  16. Back in June - at the start of our sizzling summer - i hinged the bonnett - but that left me with a gap at the leading edge ….
  17. Do you have friends in hi places ? i could be tempted to purchase the kit sans the body …. Havent built large scale in this century …. But this would be tempting …
  18. I think what Rich has treated is to is a rare 24th sc MFH semi curbside kit - Rich - did you take a shot of the engine before you completed this ? I was under the impression that the kit did not have a complete engine …
  19. Assuming a high level of chassis detail - are you at all tempted to build / display sans body ??
  20. Nice - and confusing- the body is clearly a 300SL - but the box art ??
