  1. So i removed two short lengths of the piano style hinge - and glued on a strip of Evergreen and shaped the hinge to slip into the openings in the cross brace that i made two months ago …
  2. So 0010’s bonnett uses two door style hinges that are attached to a cross brace in the forward eng compartment - the Shirley family went to great lengths in their restoration of 0010 - so this is probably accurate …
  3. Gracias 0010 has a bonnett that opens with the leading edge ducking down below the trailing edge of the nose cowling - This actually is a different arrangement than the bonnett on the more famous chass 0008 - the Lemans winner …
  4. Now to the bonnet hinges - this is a doll house accessory brass hinge that I’ve had for years - haven’t searched for one recently - mite find one in ETSY ?? Dunno …
  5. Think i saw this car run in Palm Beach - IMSA built a race course on a parking lot next to a mall - one of their many good ideas … Wasnt this the early Toyota Eagle - before it kicked off its training wheels ??

  9. But the Profil24 wheel kit surrenders its wheel grips - which are a perfect size - and feature the finger grips on the back side - once glued together - the assembly will be reasonably strong …
  10. But - the casting is not super crisp - i’m shaping it using my Fordom drill to sand it as thin as I dare - got the rim under .030 - so its fragile …
  11. Fernando Pinto has a resin cast wheel in his early Ferrari kits that has the correct 12 - 4 - 8 shape and the right size …
  12. Profil24 makes a nice photo-etched sports car wheel that is the correct size - but the spokes aren’t quite right for the Ferrari …
  13. Most sports cars of this era had larger steering wheels - 16 or maybe 17 inches … barchettas included
  14. Gracias - before the hinges there is the matter of the steering wheel - the kit wheel is white metal and measures 15 scale inches across - that’s a problem …
