Nice work. And one of a kind!

Takes some getting used to, but I like it. Nice job making lemonade from lemons!
-
Beautiful. That is a true masterpiece!

I built this Nomad as part of a group build and to practice lettering. It's the tow vehicle used by DD Speed shop on his YouTube channel. He specializes in tri-fives. Check out the channel if you have a minute. His 1:1 car is actually a 55, but this 56 was all I had to work with!

I scraped and carved away the SS emblem from the grille and replaced it with a 3d printed Chevelle badge.

Nice. Very clean so far. It's going to be a good one.

Source for 1970s Mopar Mirrors?
Steamboat replied to spencer1984's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
After some careful research, it seems like the same mirror was used on most Mopar models from 1964 to 1970ish, except for E-bodies. This one would only have been adjusted from the outside, and was rarely installed on the passenger side. I made a passenger side anyways since it was easy to do after having already made a driver side. The cable controlled mirror was slightly different. I'll work on that one next. Here are the first ones off the printer. Anyone interested can PM me and I'll make up some sets. Steamboat -
Black wash for grille?
Steamboat replied to Steamboat's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
How do you remove excess from the shiny areas? -
Sweet. That one's on my list as well. I had a 4dr hardtop back in the day. The 66's were high compression. I eventually sold it because it wouldn't run on unleaded fuel.

Here's the interior nearing completion. After reworking the roof, the rear package shelf was too short. I suppose that in the 1:1 car, the rear seat may have been further rearward, but in this case, it was easier just to make a filler piece from sheet styrene. The door trim has been rescribed for the 4 door version. Not sure if the color scheme is 100% correct, but it works! Removed the Millennial anti-theft Device and scratched an automatic transmission brake pedal!

Looking great!

It was the "look". I had a Challenger like that. I couldn't drive it unless the air shocks were pumped up because the tires would rub.

I almost painted this one banana yellow, but the dark side took over!

Nice. The paint jobs are both excellent. Love those colors.

Thanks for the help. I'll try those. -
Nice looking Demon. You can't go wrong with Tor Red. Great photography too!

Just finished this Monogram '70 Roadrunner. Simple kit and very fun to build. I wanted to capture the 'day 2" 70's vibe with the huge rear tires and rake. The rear needed a fair amount of work to get the height. I recurved the springs, which were extremely weak, so I added a brass leaf to strengthen them up. At the same time I disconnected the molded in exhaust from the rear axle. Scratch built shackles add some additional lift. The Cragar wheels and Mickey Thompson tires are 3d printed from my own design. I made brake drums on all 4 wheels to give the wheels something to attach to. In the engine bay I removed the "Monogram second overflow tank" and replaced it with sheet styrene. A 3d printed distributor is about the only other change to the engine bay. Paint is Testors semi gloss black with automotive 2k clear. This was my first time using 2k and I'm still learning with it. It hardens fast and extremely hard, although I may have made a mistake by waiting 3 days before attempting to polish. It was nearly impossible to polish using rubbing compound. In the future I'll experiment with drying time and hardener ratio to see if I can make the clear a little softer. Comments and suggestions are always welcome!

What's everyone's favorite black wash for the grille? I've been using a mix of black chalk and water for ease of application but it's not very durable. I'd like to up the game in this department.
