  1. I agree. However for me, 1/24 scale just requires a little more planning when it comes to kitbashing. I dislike trying to make 1/25 parts work in 1/24 models. It's an extra headache I just don't need. But it won't stop me from buying one that I like.
  2. It's not real high on my list of upcoming builds, with 11 wips already, but I will get to it eventually. Another thought I've had is to built the fenders out and down in an art deco fashion like the '37 Delahaye.
  3. I have the roadster kit. I'm very torn on on how to build it. A big part of me is screaming to hot rod it and make it a highboy.
  4. I do also. However the most important thing I do is buy selectively. If I don't a have a REAL good idea on how I'd want to build a model, I don't buy it. I have 53 kits. Only. And I'm quite happy with that number. It allows me to plan them without feeling overwhelmed. I know how I want to build them, I know what parts I need and a decent idea of what paints I'll need. I've 32 un-started kits that are planned builds 6 kits bought for parts 3 kits available for trade and 11 wips. Buying on impulse, buying because it's a good kit, buying because it "might" come in handy. and buying multiples of the same subject (I have only one kit that I own multiples of) are all something to be avoided in my opinion. Getting overwhelmed by your own collection is caused by these things I think.
  5. I like that a lot James. Keep it going.
  6. Mike, you absolutely read my mind. Check my original post and you'll see that's absolutely on the docket.
  7. No it comes with a small block, but as it's a 1/24 scale kit, big block valve covers in 1/25 would probably fit well. I'm going to add the big block 427 from the '39 Chevy panel kit, to keep it all 1/24.
  8. I've never seen that before, but my club regularly will rent a table as a group and sell our spare stuff.
  9. What about that chop do you find objectionable?
  10. Very cool Idea. I was thinking about this myself at some point. What engine are you planning?
  11. I suppose you are right, but it I'm just wondering if it would work as seamless as the melted-styrene-in-MEK trick.
  12. I can't wait to try this as a general purpose body filler.
  13. Agreed. Between the '39 and '53 Chevys you could come up with two great builds with some parts swapping.
  14. Normally, I'm not a big fan of taking early coupes and going for the hardtop look. Most times it looks strange to me. But this one just looks right on. As a custom it works on so many levels. At first I thought it was a 1:1 that might have been done by Sam Barris. Great work. Did you rechrome the shiny bits or is that Alclad? How did you accomplish the side spear with the groove through it?
  15. When it comes to overall quality, accuracy and ease of build, it's hard to beat the Revell '67 Charger kit. The Revell '32s are also good. Man, that's just plain mean.
  16. Wow. I would probably stare at that for twenty minutes thinking, "Whats wrong with this picture" before I figured out the roof. Very nicely done.
  17. WELL DONE! I love it.
  18. Great looking stuff guys, thanks very much. Geno where did the grill and headlights come from? I looks very good.
  19. 30 gauge wrapping wire from Radio Shack I use for ignition wire if you can find a RS that still sells that sort of thing.
  20. Please post up your Tom Daniels '60 Chevy creations. I've a red glass, Bad News version that I'm planning and I'd like to see what others have done with the kit. My plans so far is to replace the glass top with cloth, add a 1/24 427 BBC w/tunnel ram/ and shorten the body by a quarter inch right behind the rear wheels. I'm looking for some clear glass if anyone has some to trade.
  21. Wow. I would love to see that thing when it was still in good shape.
  22. This is a very good looking model. Great stance, finish and detail. I am a little confuzzled as to why you are calling it a '32?
  23. This just gets more and more impressive. The subframe connectors look great.
  24. A '75 Olds Delta 88 2-door hardtop. White with a blue vinyl top and 55K miles back in 1986/87. It had a two barreled Olds 350, which was quickly upgraded to a 4 barrel intake and a Carter (I think) 4-barrel carb. Added some headers and dual exhaust and that was about it. It scooted along fairly well and sounded good without grabbing the attention of local LEO's. I loved it.
