  1. Fantastic work Pete. Looks like it jumped off the pages of Hot Rod.
  2. Just leave it as is. Making a new thread in the Under Glass section was the correct thing to do, and don't worry bout this thread.
  3. Looks great V-spec. What sort of toothpaste do you use? And did you shoot the Future through an airbrush?
  4. Yeah, I'd say Mark is right. Revell calls it a "custom dual carburetor V8".
  5. That style vehicle is called a panel van. Nice work on it. Very good two tone, nice & clean.
  6. I think the when we see people who build crazy numbers yearly, I think these people have an abundance of something most of us lack. Time. They either are retired, unable to work, perhaps are single and thus don't have the daily grind that keeps us from the work bench when we'd rather be building. I'm not saying thats every case, but it's a likely scenario.
  7. This is coming along great, but the "junk" Johan 63 Olds has me depressed.
  8. Great work! How about a washer or two between the chassis and the stand off the screw goes into?
  9. I think it was a space issue. 1/25 had already established itself as a size people liked. They are the right size for displaying on a shelf and not too small the average builder would have problems building. However, a 1/25 scale tank would be very large. So they lowered the scale until they got an end result was about the same size as a 1/25 scale car. This seems to make sense to me, but it's entirely possible that I'm completely full of .........
  10. No one needs to see my ugly mug anyway.

  11. I think this is worth a bump. This is good stuff. I'm going to have to give this a try.
  12. This looks right on! Gonna weather the chassis?
  13. I just went over your WIP thread. You do some very good work. The cleanliness of the build is excellent, and the paint is awesome. I don't care for the X-Mod tires, they look too thin. Unrealisticly so.
  14. Hey, glad someone dug up this tutorial again. It works good.
  15. What else do you have planned for this? Your scratch building and weathering techniques are flawless. The building and cars look perfect. But the yard is too..............clean. You need to add some weeds, some spare parts half buried, beer cans kicked into a corner. It needs the lived-in look. Know what I mean?
  16. Great website Roger. But we'd like to see more of you and your fine work HERE!
  17. Ah, the scoop with the air cleaners inside? Two piece scoops have always been a pain in the posterior. For myself I would strip the chrome with some bleach. Mate the two halves with some gap filling CA glue, like Zap-a-gap and then sand the seam smooth. Prime and paint with some Duplicolor Chrome paint. It doesn't look as good as chrome, but it's an easy substitute. For the air cleaners inside, some careful detail painting of the filter element would be good.
  18. Nice work. But inquiring minds want to know.................where did you get the shelves?
  19. If they are smart, (and I'd say they are), they'll do multiple body style's like they did with their deuce kits. I thought that was brilliant of them. And 30's and 40's cars are perfect for that.
  20. AMEN! I am among the converted.
  21. Gentlemen, I'd like to announce a Cannonball Run CBP which will be run on another forum (which will remain nameless on this posting and all further replies, *HINT*)starting in February. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the 1981 film, the Cannonball Run. To commemorate this, this years Cannonball CBP will allow ONLY cars and technolgy that pre-date 1981, as if the car could have been used in the film. However it should be built as if it could actually run cross country at hair raising speeds. I'd like to invite you to join us to make this year's run our best yet. If you'de like more info on this CBP and where it will be featured please shoot me a PM, and I'll fill you in. Lastly, in case anyone is upset about me posting something for another forum, this post and it's wording was first okay'd by Harry via PM. Thanks and I hope to see you on race day.
  22. Real nice work!
  23. Well painting the filter element for one. But it might help if we knew what sort of filter you are talking about.
  24. I think..........I wanna see more. Yep, pretty sure about that.
