"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Jantrix replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'd be down for this. This '37 needs to get under glass along with a few others. -
My advice on the P2P plaques is to print it out on some decent photo paper. Then just glue to some thin stock.

Great article. Great photos as well. Check out what the options are for running boards, interiors, intakes, brakes, etc. Gentlemen pay close attention to the section of the article titled: Bending the Rules. Actually this changes quite a lot about what I assumed about the P2P. Clearly 4 barrel carbs, Ford 9" rear ends, 5 speed trannys and torshion anti-roll bars were not available in 1938. My thought was that it had to be the same tech level as the year of the car. This does change things. This will certainly change how I build the '51. I think this article is a good guide on building these racers.

Yep. Guys a Google search on ACTUAL race cars will probably answer most questions.

We did a Brock Yates memorial run a couple of years ago, back when he passed. However please feel free to suggest this next year in the next thread like this one. Next year I'll gather up the suggested themes, pick the 5 that have the most support and I'll create a poll and we'll vote on it. I think yours is a fine idea.

I gotta agree. I AM NOT a fan of chopped tops for the most part and chopped 40's especially because 9 times out of 10, they aren't done well. This works. Even for me.

I'm reading the Outsider by Stephen King. It's a murder mystery. Prosecution has an air tight case, the accused an air tight alibi. More of a what-the-heck than a whodunit.

That looks better than the Monza.

This little gem full into my clutches last night. Complete and unstarted. I'm very pleased.

Done Excellent choice. Glad to have you.

Wait! I think I have found a driver for this monster.

November 1st. If you haven't already, feel free to begin building. Post often and help keep your fellow builders motivated. Well I'm giving you folks the benefit of the doubt on the "gentlemen" issue. Racers generally help each other. And/or get help from locals. Keeping local cash on hand is a good idea. As for official rescue, not that I have seen on my many Google image searches.

Yep. She was in two episodes as Safron.

Round2 spent a lot of time and money on restoring the custom pices to the '53 pickup. Seems this kit would be a no brainer for the same treatment.
-
Speaking of red heads, any fans of this bombshell? She's always gotten my attention since I first saw her on Firfefly. Christina Hendricks. Yowza.

Rico, there are no limits to the modifications for the Cannonball. Per historical Cannonball rules, a model less than 25% complete can be entered. Please check THIS years Cannonball rules, they don't change much year to year. Looking forward to seeing the model.

The roster is updated.

Pete, that was a kettle of fish I wan't planning on dealing with. The reason being is that this CBP already has a ton of restrictions by it's very nature. I just didn't was to limit it further, especially artistically. So lets go with - if I didn't add it to the rules on the first post - we're not going to worry about it. Sound okay with everyone? Second - when selecting a number, please try not to duplicate a number already picked. Later today I will start the roster and I will include the car number, in the second post of this thread for easy perusing. Some really great cars being selected. Really looking forward to this.

I have posted all the rules. If you don't see a rule against it .............................. need I say more.? Do the best you can on the plaques. Gotta have something visible on the vehicle front and back ID'ing the vehicle as a P2P racer or else take your chances with Russian police.

Sorry to hear about your son Jeremy, I hope he gets better. As for next year, got a van kit handy?
-
What a beast! Here's the actual 2016 rules. See attached. It's the rules that I'm following and since that monster ran twice, I'd say yeah, you get a thumbs up from me. I can't wait to see what you come up with. P2P 2016 Regs FINAL.pdf EDIT : They must be of a type designed to carry passengers with either a saloon or sports bodywork. Regardless of chassis, the car was designed to carry passengers and is not considered a utility vehicle of any sort. Therefore - legal to run the P2P.

I'm going to enter with an AMT '51 Chevy Fleetline. I'll be number 32. EDIT - Yeah I changed my entry. Last night my dad asked, "Say, did you ever build that '51 Fleetline kit I gave you?" and it dawned on me that it would be a really cool P2P racer. So two birds, one stone.

You are welcome. I haven't looked for such as of yet.

For the year after, I plan to do our usual public choice to determine the theme, so I would definitly think your idea has some merit. We'll see.
