  1. My wife and I have a small 10 acre hobby farm. We'd likely start by buying up the forty acres north of us and thirty acres south of us. We'd go off the grid using solar and wind power. Make a deal with some neighbors for partial water rights to the creek that runs through my property. Get a half dozen beef cows and my wife a couple horses and all the toys we need/want.
  2. It had to have been a passenger vehicle. There are certain nono's on the build but it's all in the rules i posted earlier in this thread. Im working on getting the 2019 rules.
  3. Per the criteria that was bounced around last fall, vans and panel trucks only. No wagons or sedan deliveries.
  4. My last employer had TVs all over the place tuned to CNN. I didn't watch the news but Robin Meade would certainly grab my attention walking by.
  5. Gotcha. It's been brought up by other builders that the P2P should be a separate CBP as the race and the rally are two very different events. So I wasn't going to call next years run the Cannonball, but rather something like the Model Car Peking to Paris Rally, brought to you by the Cannonball Run Builders Association. The Cannonball may be my baby, but it has been run by other builders four times? over the last 11 years. Due to lifes challenges I've not always been able to keep up with it, so others have stepped up and helped out. If the group wants both Run and Rally, I'm open to alternatives. Having said all that, I'll still be doing the poll in November to decide P2P or Vans.
  6. Correct sir. Sorry, no vans in the P2P. It looks like pick ups were allowed in 2013 as two of them ran, but none in 2016, so looks like there was a rule change. I will have the 2019 rules soon. Pete, you read my mind concerning the badges. I can make decals although quality sometimes varies. Printing on a piece of high quality photo paper might be a better idea. We'll discuss this more as we start the CBP.
  7. I had considered this but I really didn't want to divide our builders. However, I have no issue with Dan running next years Cannonball if that's what the group decides. Interesting idea. It's never occured to me, as I don't really do a lot of glue bombs.
  8. If a woman won't get in the thing, whats the point?
  9. I think if you table the idea, in time an answer will present itself. No rush.
  10. Bruce, you never disappoint. She looks great.
  11. Okay boys and girls. Just about seven weeks to go. On or about Nov. 1, I will start a completed builds thread for everyone to post up their completed racers. There were some really cool builds started this year and I've not seen updates on many of them lately. I'll be very disappointed if you're not all there on race day.
  12. After some serious thought on the issue, I've made an executive decision on next years run. Come mid November we'll be choosing between two themes. Vans - vans and panel trucks only, no sedan deliveries or wagons. Peking to Paris racers. Using the rules from the actual race. Sorry if this disappoints anyone.
  13. My only T at the moment.
  14. You are quite welcome! I have the same problem. Happy to pass on the madness.
  15. In 1/25 scale, 1 millimeter is nearly 1 scale inch. Drop a metric ruler in the car and you are good to go. I'm building something similar. I recommend basswood for everything.
  16. Steve you knew what you were getting into with this post and you were ready for a fight right away. I actually had to correct you about it on your second post on this thread. You can't start an argument on purpose, (and no one here believes for a second you didn't) and then take umbrage when you get out-argued. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
  17. Only if you can make him look terrified. Maybe with a yellow puddle on the ground? Patient Bear approves.
  18. A piece of the track wall would be cool too.
  19. Not a new problem. When big box stores carried models, finding an open and incomplete model was pretty common.
  20. Great color choice. Good clean build of the best GTO ever. Whats not to like?
  21. And how about this "twist"?
  22. Not enough flake.
