Okay, I'll admit this is mostly nostalgia. The first gen Chargers have been my favorite cars since I first bought this kit as a kid, some 38 years ago. I must have built about ten of these. It's not a great kit, but it's buildable. The decals are very dated, but I like em. This box art always puts a smile on my face.

Terrific build. Very well thought out.

Got some more done. Working on the wiring for the lights and built a work bench and wall shelf. I've started flooring the balcony area. Soon I'll start going through my parts and stuff to find stuff to be stored up there. I plan on a lot of photo reduced boxes and all sorts of odds and ends.

Terrific. Years ago I'd built something just like it with a Baja Beast VW. Sadly it was in a box of models that disappeared during a military move.

And that is the real trick of modeling isn't it? Skills, money, parts, kits, supplies are all easier to obtain, than time.

I was lucky enough to get one early. Stretched chassis. AMT straight 6 with a Paxton. A fine kit.

When I saw those interior pics I literally groaned out loud. That looks like a fine candidate for a curbside, IMHO. I will be following your decent into madness with this build.

I'm usually an advocate of leaving old childhood builds alone. However now that the damage is done, looking forward to seeing the new version.

A lovely beast of a machine. I'd probably pull a Paul Walker in something like that though.

'Ol Snake here has the right of it. However back in the day many pro-streeters were build without the intention of ever laying rubber on a drag strip. And during that time, mono-chromatic paint was the current trend. Thus we had trailer queens with matching painted chassis'. Like many automotive trends we see it as rather silly now, but there it is. Paint it the way you would want it if it was parked in your driveway. And a quick note on Snake's signature line. Sometimes, the order in which things are assembled is quite important. I've shot myself in the foot a couple of times by assembling in the order I wanted for painting reasons, only to find the assembly thereafter to be near impossible. The Revell '32s for instance. The color chart tho? Definitely someone elses opinion. If I want a pink headers, by golly pink they shall be!

Now that is a tall air cleaner. Very nicely done. I like it.

Thanks very much. I quite agree. I'm going to use the chassis from the Dodge Sidewinder show truck, and the 302 from the Revell deuces. Not much aside from the cab and bed will be from the Courier kit.

Patrick, I have the same kit and I'm going to build it as an autocross racer with a JDM vibe. So for me the corny on his kit is spot on. I am missing the sun roof clear piece. If you have one you'de trade away I'd love to hear from you. I'd also like the decals, if yours are in good shape. Your build is looking real good.

THE ABILITY TO blah blah blah WORK ON THEM WITHOUT A COMPUTER AND NEEDING TO TAKE HALF THE CAR APART TO CHANGE AN ALTERNATOR. Chrome. Two tone paint. An interesting design. The ability to ID a car from across the parking lot. Functional hood scoops.

Man you just can't go wrong with classic five spokes. They look great on near anything. Great color, stance and finish. I dig it.

Probably the oldest boat anchor around my shop is this scratch built ATV for one of Doc Cranky's post-apoc build offs.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this period racer. If I might be allowed a criticism without being dog-piled, the seam on the rear tire needs to be filed/sanded away. Otherwise a solid piece.

Lighting has begun. I'm using a product sold by my employer, ECCO. It is a 12V interior light for cars and vans. They come in strings of 100, but when you have just two lights on the string a 9v battery will run them just fine. The 9V will be hidden in a crate on the storage area, with an on/off switch on the outside of the box. I do not know how much they cost, but here is a link to them. I do not have any others to trade.
