  1. I grew up on a ten house dead end street in Bay Shore, Long Island, New York. Your story brings back memories of stickball, street hockey, and all sorts of craziness with our bicycles. Outside til the streelights came on and then back outside after supper, till mom hollered from the front door. It was idylic to say the least for us kidsI made friendships that endure to this day. A shame that modern kids will never know what they are missing by not stepping out the front door, drinking from the spigot, skinning knees, climbing trees and just simply being kids.
  2. The ejector pin marks on the radiator are going to be painfully obvious with this front valence. Are you going to address those in some way?
  3. Please provide proof of that claim. I've seen no intent to sell these on the forum.
  4. A quick Google search does not show this car, in this color. It could be that he's disassembing them and repainting them.
  5. When I built the Revell '32 Coupe I made the mistake of gluing in the rear inner fenders early. And not realizing the mistake until after paint. I'm not sure if the roadster is the same way, but it was pretty near impossible to get the interior in with the fender inserts in place. Looking good.
  6. You guys are aces. Thanks very much.
  7. Any y-block kits come with them?
  8. Lindberg did have a way of coming up with other companies molds somehow. Rumor has it that someone at AMT left the molds for this pick-up at a machine shop for too long, and they ended up sold to Lindberg.
  9. A little done. Still working the hood.
  10. I had to Google it. Wow.
  11. I'm a pretty active Googler. I'll search for whatever car I have a model for and keep an open file of what I like. After I have some ideas, they go on a post it note on the model box.
  12. That looks terrific. Very nice work.
  13. I dig it. Just finished a similar Willys coupe.
  14. These stack nicely. https://www.united-states-flag.com/124-scale-model-standard-display-case.html?utm_source=googlepepla&utm_medium=adwords&id=421110081261&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIkLKNpKvH3AIVlMhkCh1lfgKLEAQYAiABEgLGhfD_BwE https://www.containerstore.com/s/collections/display/race-car-display-cube/12d?productId=10001594&theme=display case&pos=11
  15. A few years ago my uncle left me his stash which had a LOT of Monograms. I've built a fair amount of them and frankly I like the 1/24 scale. Parts swapping is a little tougher, and there are fewer parts in the kit, but they really do build up well.
  16. Real nice work. Has a great authentic look.
  17. Well if those Street Outlaw knuckleheads were actual street racers and not a made for TV boredom-fest, I'd see where there would be an issue. But since they aren't, it's not.
  18. Thanks guys. Photos soon.
  19. Thanks Bill. I got the Revell engine in a trade, and the single carb intake is what I have from that. I will give this a try. Thanks much for the advice. Thanks to everyone who chimed in. For the record, as this will be in an open engine hot rod, I am concerned with accuracy. I'm using the Y-block because I like the way they look.
  20. Any kit come with a triple carb intake for a y-block? Or by a resin caster?
  21. Getting started on the Revell roadster this weekend. I'm planning something like this but I'm going to do it as a highboy. AMT Phantom Vicky Hallock windshield, Revell 57 Ford y-block. 37 Chevy front end. We'll see if it comes out like I plan, it almost never does.
