  1. I spotted this one on the HAMb recently. It makes use of the stock spring location while pushing the axle forward. I just think that little weld area on the wish bones seems like a risk. The whole weight of the vehicle on those welds. I have seen others that are through bolted, which opens up other concerns. This one seems sturdier.
  2. This saves me another of my "what's Bill think of this?" PM's. I've been seeing this a lot on my Google searches.
  3. I think that the design is modern enough that with an engine and wheel change to something modern, it could still be something eye catching.
  4. How old is the kit? Most "modern" kits (the last decade or so), have the glass individually bagged. If yours isn't, you likely have an older kit. As for Revell, they consistantly put out an excellent product. Boycott if you wish, it just leaves more for the rest of us.
  5. Oh. My mistake. You are quite right. We cannot delete entire posts. We can however, delete the original post contents and change the title. Which we have seen on several occasions when someone didn't get the ataboys he was looking for. No sweat Carl, we're good.
  6. Completely agree. Lets face it, any hot rod in running shape represents a significant financial investment. To spend that on a car that you can't drive down to the local car show and back, borders on insanity. Imagine trying to sell that?
  7. Thanks very much Bruce. I'm feeling pretty good for 50. My family threw a party for me out on our farm Sunday and we had a great time. I wish I could take credit for this group but I can't. I just started a CBP that I thought would be fun, hoping for some like minded folks. What I got, like Mr. Yates said, was the most distinguished group of modeling scofflaws and degenerates ever gathered together in one place. And we've had a great run. I think the idea of a cross country race (anywhere) and the terrific themes we come up with keeps things from getting stale. So as long as there is interest, the Cannonball will continue.
  8. That's not what Alt - Left Arrow does. Give it a try.
  9. Guys, in case no one noticed, this thread is specifically about complaints. If our complaints offend you, I recomment ALT - left arrow. This my biggest peeve as well. This is also the person who's left wondering, "why didn't I win?" When he asks you as judge, and you show him the issues, he's full of excuses. And on the forums, he's the person who deletes his post because he didn't get any replies.

    My models

You do fine work sir. Happy to see you here.
  11. I quite agree. Yes there are some proportion issues, like many kits of the day, but EVERYTHING FITS. Sometimes that's worth more than scale accuracy. Terrific build. I like everything about it.
  12. Bruce, Ash, some really cool work. I think a new standard is being set here.
  13. Man, that is very neat stuff. I'm gonna have to try one.
  14. Pat your weathering always leaves me speechless, but this finish almost looks like a camo pattern as its pretty constant on the whole body.
  15. The 37 Ford is a 1/24 kit. I recommend a 427 as previously mentioned or a hemi. Something wide so that the 1/25 engine doesn't look too small in the engine bay. AMT does a vintage hemi in a parts pack.\
  16. Your English is fine. Happy to have you here. Biturbo is okay by me.
  17. As Bruce noted above (Thanks bud) this question has been posed before. We will allow a curbside. However, the Cannonball IS a competition, albeit a friendly one. Most of us are putting significant effort in coming up with unique engine setups, in unique cars, just like we do every year. Your curbside would really need to be extraordinary to compete with the work being put out thus far. However, if you want to build your model just for fun and to join in the community spirit of this CBP, by all means do so. This is a great group of builders who will support you no matter what you build.
  18. Twin turbo is the term commonly used in the U.S., to the best of my knowledge.
  19. Some good work. I like it.
  20. Hmm. One might accurately say I have a black belt in nerd. Laugh all you want, but I have met some the most incedible people, not to mention my wife and best friend, thanks to this remarkable game. But don't get me wrong. I'm this kind of role player. NOT this kind. We make fun of these guys too.
  21. Okay it's mid-year and we're not seeing much activity. Not unusual for summer (in the U.S.). I've been pretty busy on the farm but I'm just about 8 hours build time from finishing up. So lets see where everyone is, post up some pics of the current state of the build (even if it's still parts in a box) and maybe it will get people jump started again.
  22. Man that looks terrific. I'm really gonna miss seeing your work at the MAGS shows.
