  1. Sitting in front of my local gas station.
  2. Looks terrific. Nice work.
  3. Thanks Roy. I will look for this.
  4. But a nice clean cut after the melted residue was trimmed away?
  5. The Krass and Bernie decals make everything okay by me.
  6. Exactly how does tire inflation affect the weight of a wheel?
  7. All printed on an medium grade ink jet printer on white ink jet printer decal paper from Bare Metal Foil.
  8. Please let us know how it does. I'd be concerned for the cutter melting plastic as it cuts.
  9. I looks a little over-designed to me.
  10. I got some work done over the weekend and suddenly I realize that I'm not to far from completion. I'll shoot one last set of pics tonight and that will be it until it's under glass.
  11. Very nicely done. I like it.
  12. I sure like this. Very period. a budget rod that would have been in anyones driveway. Nice work. I regards to our hobby, truer words have never been said. It's only been in the last five years that I've figured this out myself. Rather than 5 complicated builds on deck, each one with it's own miasma of difficulties, I have one. With three other simple builds around to keep things fresh. Consequently, I'm enjoying the hobby more and sleeping better.
  13. I love the trophy series theme. When it's done you should display it with the trophies from said kits. To make it look like it's had a successful racing career. Looking forward to this.
  14. What does it mean to be a trophy kit? Aside from box art?
  15. Detailing, body mods, and engineering changes done poorly. I've long been the "clean building first" advocate so this shouldn't surprise anyone.
  16. That's some terrific work. Very authentic weathering and great detailing.
  17. I had the opportunity to meet him at Billetproof a few years ago, which takes place at his museum in Ocala, Florida. He seemed a pretty down to earth fella. I was a good experience. Looking forward to seeing all this fine work guys. EDIT - Oh and Don drives the sweetest little Ardun powered Model T roadster ('27 I think) you ever saw.
  18. I'd agree. Revell wasn't the reason Hobbico failed. Both Revell US and Revell AG were very focused in on their customer base. Revells kits over the last decade have been very focused on the 40+ crowd once they realized that the 14 year old was no longer the target demographic. And since new (and really good) kits have kept coming, it's obvious that the plan was working. I highly doubt that Blitz will change a business plan that is working. We may see a delay in kits we were expecting in the future as they pull in the oars and take stock of where they are, but it will eventually start rolling again. I have faith that a business will always stay with what works. If New Coke taught them anything, it's that.
  19. Oh I see. My mistake.
  20. I'm trying to figure out why you'd think there would be a need. It's not like any of us have a shortage of kit tires in the ol' stash. I think the horse is pretty well fed already.
  21. I really like this one. Right up my alley.
  22. Well done. Your first photo is a great example of how to detail paint molded in chassis parts.
  23. Ech. To quote David Lee Roth, "It's like a beautiful woman with bad teeth."
  24. Yep. But, it's in 1/24. I could still work though, finding a lower profile tire with a larger inner diameter.
  25. I think a model being eye catching and to a lesser degree, original, has a lot to do with what gets selected to be photographed/published. A red 68 Mustang, no matter how well built, no matter how many trophies it won, in a photograph, it's just a red 68 Mustang. Show themsomething out of the ordinary, and in my opinion, you'll get chosen.
