I understand where you are coming from. As I've gotten older and busier (not sure how that worked out) and my building time is at an all time premium, I've realized that if I want to complete more than one build a year, I have to do less complicated builds. Less customization, less fabrication, less detailing. So I have been planning, buying and building accordingly. For every complicated build, I do two simple ones.

A very good effort. A couple of things. Decals do not do well on matte paint, so I'd leave her as is. Second, as you replaced the modern intake with a triple carb setup, that big tube no longer has a function and can be omitted. Throw an air cleaner on there and call it done. Overall, I think you did very well. Looks good.

WO. You guys that build in brass drive me nuts. I have enough trouble with plastic. This is very impressive.

Unless I'm mistaken that's a Monogram kit in 1/24. If so I recommend the big blocks from the Monogram '39 Chevys. The coupe comes with a blower and the sedan delivery with a tunnel ram. Both with dual quads. Either would be appropriate for a gasser.

Definitely not. I think anyone who's familiar with my work knows they are as varied as can be. I will revisit a particular genre, but not anytime soon.

I'm with Mike. The wheels plus the patina make this a bit of a sleeper. Discs showing through the wheels would kill the illusion.

I've thought about this question a bit lately and it seems my first responce was incorrect. Anyone who knows Morena Baccarin of Firefly and Deadpool knows what I mean. Every time they do a close up of her in Firefly, I stop breathing for a moment or two.

I would some evil hot rod things to that kit.

There was a build up of plastic on one side of the inside of the body, near the rear wheel arch. I tried sanding it smooth, but it was deformed enough that the interior wouldn't fit well.

I quite agree. Some folks give him a hard time, but I'm positive he's just trying to generate conversation. Keep going Greg.

I would welcome a Monogram reissue of this kit. I have no experience with the Butteras '27, but like a lot of those kits, I'd be worried it's underscale. But why waste the plactic on the AMT '32 Phaeton? The molds are really shot on the '32. The last two kits of that I got the interior wouldn't fit into the body properly. I'm holding out to hope that Revell releases a phaeton based on the recent Model A or Model B releases.

No. I have a very modest collection. About 80 kits. What does surprise me though is when I dig out an older build and find parts that I can't rememeber why I added them to the kit. A "what was I thinking?" moment.

A terrific build. Great paint, the exhaust is particularly nice and the engine looks terric. Where'd the valve covers and air cleaners come from?

The 66/67 Charger are MY favorite muscle car, and Revell turned out a terrific kit of the '67. If the car suits you (admittedly not everyone gets it) , I do recommend it. Looks like you do build American cars.

As an adult, not really. But WKRP's Loni Anderson jump started puberty back in the day.

The seals on a few look too loose to be factory seals. Re-sealed kits are not unheard of so I would open each and make sure you got what you paid for. And Mike is quite right. Build away.

I'm with Jim. It can get pretty cluttered as I build, but I gotta clean it when I'm done for the day. After a while I get to where I have to search for a part I had five minutes ago and is right in front of me somewhere. That drives me nuts.

I fear it will stay that way. Make sure its kept dust free after you are done or it will get messy. It does look excellent though.

I've NEVER seen anyone us actually makeup to weather a model. I wonder how it will do long term. Looking good though. Definitely my kind of work.

I know you just painted the body, but if I could make a suggestion. That line at the rear edge of the front fender going up, is a mold line. Something left over from manufacturing the plactic part. As is the line at the edge of the top, just behind the top of the rear door corner. The removal of these will drastically improve the appearance of the model. I realize it sucks to see them now after a nice smooth paint job is laid down. Sorry.
