  1. Ive had an old Texaco station for years but it doesn't fit enough cars. I have thought about a big display but it'd take a lot of room
  2. are you sure you dont want to lower it..a lot haha I may need to get one of these
  3. looks amazing Eric!
  4. Thanks, thse are the ones I initially bought. They also have 50 packs Im told for FAR less, I just cant find them Ill check them out, thanks. Thats why Im looking at bulk, to lower the costs.
  5. @NOBLNG I do make my own, but I like these for blocking out my custom bodywork. Plus it keeps me from having tons of sandpaper everywhere while Im working haha
  6. started roughing in the chop. comparison to an uncut body
  7. Hey everyone, Im looking to buy Squadron coarse sanding sticks in bulk since its my most used stick for rough out. Ive seen the medium in a 50 pack, but my searches have come up empty for the coarse version. The part number on it is 30501 Thanks
  8. I'm hoping to blend the roof tonight. might be time to start a build thread for it i usually see them go for 2 to 300 I saw your truck In the background of a contest photo so THANK YOU for the Inspiration
  9. clean Survivors are going for over 100 (i lost an auction on one 2 days ago in the last 20 secs) The convertible I just lost was nearly 200 (same last 20 secs) and the hardtop is nearly 400. Theyre both on my "must own" list but I cant afford to pay those kind of prices.
  10. Lindberg 32 pick up.....so inaccurate, but it's definitely a cool piece of history. I've had the Blue survivor for awhile and I don't want to change it in any way. then I ended up with the pink body as part of a parts lot I got... A few of my friends dug out their versions (both old and new builds) and it made me break out my fresh kit. The boxy back half of these trucks don't match the curvy front half so I dug out a trailer from the Revell 37 and started cutting. the Rollpan is made from the roof of a monogram model A coupe. I did a quick Bob of the rear fenders to lighten them up. I also cut the canvas top out. Next step will be the chop and then I have to decide how to blend the fenders into the "bed". After that, it's time to get a quad headlight assembly in there since this is all about a 60s custom rod.
  11. Were the custom parts in the AMT Impalas available in any other reissues etc? Ive lost out on 2 65 convertibles this week (one unbuilt and the other a VERY clean survivor), and I cant seem to find a hardtop I can afford. Ive been searching but no luck. Both times Ive been sitting there while the auction winds down with a HIGH max bid (well above what my set limit is) only to get outbid in the last minute few seconds. Really aggravating.
  12. street freaks unite! Gonna be sweet!!!!
  13. and here you told me not to worry about it...haha
  14. thanks. Just enough to remove the economy car status. If it wasnt painted, Id shave the small stuff like handles and give it more of a custom touch.
  15. thats the only way I do things. I do need to find a cleaner chassis plate and I have tried other more modern chassis, but all require modifications. If I can't find one, I can cut a 64 fairlane/thunderbolt version down but I'd rather not
  16. I was gonna basically build the same concept but with a blown big block haha
  17. nope, staying as is. Last thing I need is another project wasting away due to time I dont have. Between my FT job, my business, my responsibilities of owning my house, various other projects and most importantly taking care of my kids (Mrs is a 3 to 11 RN on rotating schedule), I already dont have time for myself. Im lucky if anything gets past initial mock up. the paint looks fine in person. Not perfect, but Its also not a contest model.
  18. I did a wheel and tire swap but thats probably gonna be it for the foreseeable future. Im honestly enjoying just having it. I would like to polish the paint to bring some shine back. I tagged you in my 62 Fairlane Im messing with
  19. @Snake45 Heres my 62 Fairlane Im playing with
  20. Ill have to check if I have one in stock, I do have a few 65 Comets I can always steal the motor from. Nothing Im doing is altering the body and interior other than adding the tach and shifter. The chassis was cut open, the motor was in the engine compartment free floating and crooked. The motor has a bunch of holes drilled into it due to the previous owner trying to get the ride height "right", which I preserved when I set up the raders and twin pins. The wheels and tires are sitting under my survivor vette already and honestly look much better under that I have a number of chassis I can modify. Im just trying to not turn it into a project because if I do, it wont get done haha
  21. here's what the meteor tail panel looks like.
