  1. it is an awesome combination.
  2. I have an old survivor of this kit that has a hemi and drag slicks on it. The builder removed the front spring to get it sitting right. I keep saying Im gonna build my version of it and its not far off what you did with yours to be honest!
  3. Cant go wrong with that combo! The track nose looks so much better with the pie cut!
  4. Im ok with Monster tachs...Stock tachs were garbage, no one ever used them haha
  5. I always hated seeing 2 tachs in a mustang haha build looks awesome as usual!!!
  6. now that you show the front end, boy did they drop the ball there. the rear is awesome
  7. I have the Mr Speed version of this kit and ALWAYS forget that it has the stock and mild stuff in it. The wheels and hubcaps were very commonly used on customs and street cars, and more than a few Stude motors ended up in hot rods.
  8. blown 392 hemi out of a 1320 diecast, a pair of revell willys rear slicks and wheels, an uncut 32 3 window and a pair of Drag City Casting halibrand front wheels on AMT Firestones. throw in some parts box "ladder bars" and its shaping up to become a pretty wicked nose up axle car... the chopped 3 window is a Drag City Casting body, the rest is Revell 3 window with Revell thunderbolt rear wheels and slicks. the front are my mock up slingster wheels and tires. It always amazes me how 2 cars from the same era with similar parts can have 2 different looks
  9. Thanks Bill! Im heading over there now. Im thinking of grabbing one for a parts kit, since I plan to build a Bobber pick up.
  10. has anyone built the "street rod" 37/38 pick up?
  11. Im going to be doing a 37 bobber style pick up here eventually. I agree with Bill. In the real world, an earlier frame wouldnt be used. Your current frame looks like a good start
  12. eventually, other things on my plate right now.
  13. Id love to see one of these with the custom stuff attached. May have to find a review somewhere
  14. I keep eyeballing my Big T since I now have a 6 carb set up and deuce front axle for it. I'll be following along
  15. Belly pans usually wrap the frame, BUT, according to the SCTA rulebook, if it covers AT LEAST 51% of the underneath of the vehicle, its considered a belly pan. The other option is a step pan which starts at the firewall and ends 10 inches in front of the rear axle centerline. At that point it must bend up to the floor. The SCTA rulebook is a funny book to read, if you read between the lines, its easy to build a car that will be legal through the gray areas...AS LONG AS the tech inspector interprets it the same way.
  16. I had gotten this near complete Garlits dragster in a lot of diecasts I bought.. I decided the motor would be perfect for a hot rod so I grabbed an uncut 3 window and pieced it together to mimic something that would run in maybe A/gas. rear wheels and tires are from the Mazmanian willys. Ill be changing up the front wheels and tires. still have a long way to go with the details
  17. he really stepped up the quality of his motors! I have always liked that era Chavy
  18. I love early Vega drag cars
  19. theyre constantly evolving and rotating. I reorganized the cabinet so I can fit more last night and moved my Fridge pickup over to my desk. I have a blown FE enroute for it now. might dig into my Model As and Ts next.
  20. the Badman 55 Chevy had Daisies. Funny you bring this combo up... amt 56 Ford Victoria front and Monogram badman rears.
  21. Those look great! Im planning The Halibrands from the Phantom Vicky to go along with the FE and stick shift trans
  22. thank you Kit! both you and RRR have been inspirations for me through the years!!! Mock up is definitely my favorite part since I'm not building hot rods for a living anymore. My head is full of designs and ideas, this is how I get them out
  23. sat down for an hour and threw together a few last night. The model A is a drag city casting sitting on narrowed monogram woodie fenders. I have to find smaller front tires that fit those front wheels. the 29 roadster will be patterned off an actual car I want to build to race. my personal goal is 250 mph on the salt. Id also like to run El mirage in Socal and Loring Air Force base in Maine with it. My folks live 30 minutes away from the base. The Prowler is my attempt to make a Prowler cool...by throwing away everything but the body and then modifying that to make it sleek. I started making my detail list to nail down specifics on each kit. I have a few more I want to layout when I get some time
