  2. shes had a few different wheels and looks in the past 23 years with me..about to go under the knife again for a late 60s/ early 70 drag car look to match its 14 to 1 compression 289
  3. no, my car is PPG Charcoal gray metallic lacquer over a dark gray primer, It was repainted in the late 80s. Car was originally the factory blue. I still have maybe half a gallon or so of it here in one of my cabinets
  4. looks like the same color my 65 is!
  5. CLEAN BUILD...My only advice is to not go back and redo them...Display them as they are and it will show how you progress through the years. I went back and redid my first kits (the ones I did with my father) and i no longer have any of them... I wish I did Otherwise, build as you see fit.
  6. Now IM gonna have to search the lego section!
  7. you know, a mini english wheel and planishing hammer would have done the same thing...haha I am constantly amazed at your work..I do this stuff in 1:1 scale and still cant get over it in scale...We also need more land speed projects around here!!!!
  8. LOVE IT...The Ford trucks of the 50s and 60s lend themselves so well to being customized.
  9. I have one of those Ebay Crosley bodies Im building as a 60s era drag car. I radiused in some wheelwells, and planned a blown FE ford motor so far. itll probably sit on my desk mocked up forever and a day haha If you havent yet, look up "Kamicrosley"...you wont be disappointed haha
  10. Now im gonna have to go buy one. looks awesome!!!
  11. where did you grab the tires from? BTW, love the paint! I use to race on the salt, and that Stude would fit right in!!!!
  12. Im not a jet car guy but this is AWESOME..the weathering is perfect, all the fab work is on point, and I cant wait to see the body
  13. Im bored and going through old threads, idk how I missed this, but I love it
  14. both are killer! you have any more photos of both builds?
  15. not the prettiest of cars?!?!?!?! Maybe Im biased since I grew up with them and have had mine for over 20 years haha
  16. VERY COOL. I worked at Rolling Bones for a few years, enjoyed it but moved on to refocus on my goals. i Did minor amounts of work to Varnis sedan, but Swanders 5 Window, Mannos sedan, and Poteets 34 all have quite a bit my fab work on them.
  17. am I the only one who thought, a slammed, hot rod version would be awesome? just think, you can go as low as you want as long as the wheels dont hit haha
  18. New to the forum, actually, Ive lurked for a few years, but decided to join since I have a 40 coupe Im building kind of similar. Back in 93, I saw Scott Colmers version of a fenderless 40 coupe drag car and fell head over heels in love with it...in Fact, I cut the photo out of the magazine and kept it safe..My 13 year old self said some day Id build it...Well, now Im almost 38, a few years ago I tracked down Scott and he modified one of his resin bodies for me and sent it on its way so I can scale the real car off of it. There will be some changes to the rear section of the body because I want to tuck the quarter, but other than that, it will be much like Scott designed it over 30 years ago. I worked at Rolling Bones from 05 to 07, and when we tucked the tail on Poteets 34, it transformed the car. a photo Scott sent me while he was doing my body
