1990 Mustang LX - SVT Cobra DOHC Powered! UPDATE! 1/22/23
chris chabre replied to Dennis Lacy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
mine was a 79 coupe. 10 pt moly cage, full Wolfe tubular front suspension, 4 inch cowl, 5 lug svo front brakes, 5 lug 8.8., mini tubbed, real 18 inch 2000 cobra Rs it was a retired drag car that I was going to use as a fully gutted street driven drift car. I was going to put my 14 to 1 289 in it -
My aunt and Uncle both had Fieros after my uncle got tired of MGBs. His was a bright yellow 87 non GT, hers was a White 88 GT. Surprisingly fun little cars after he scienced out the suspension.

I cant help but now I want one haha

Im not a turquoise fan, (in fact, Im not a big fan of the whole 50s Doowop type "scene" haha) but that color is awesome, I also like what youre doing with the whole build one coupe in different styles!!!

My continually updated thread with fresh HOT ROD mock ups.

I think it is almost always more fun haha Thank you! Ive done my best in the last few years to fully organize stuff. Its hard because Im restoring a house, and my 3 buildings (shop, barn and garage) constantly moving things around etc but so far Ive been fairly successful. -
decided to sit down and pull some stuff out of my hot rod boxes. the blue pick up is an old Lindberg survivor, the 3 window and 4 door are Drag City Castings, the Vicky is an unknown resin. ill eventually finish the chop on the pick up and 5 window. as you can see I'm mainly into 60s era drag Inspired stuff (the plan isn't a set of billets on the 4 door) idk when I'll get back on these due to life BUT I have all the kits and parts needed between my kits and parts boxes.

still made the same way, on the same lathe and in the same building. I went into a deep dive a long time ago due to my early drag racing, land speed and hot rod roots. Present day I do some work for a company using steel spinnings, and the company I work for FT does tanks for the military out of stainless spinnings. All done the same way Moon makes their spun aluminum parts, their gas tanks included
-
they actually are spun on a lathe and formed which is what gives it the radial finish. Dean Moon got the idea to produce them after he made a set off a maytag washing machine lid (no joke)

looks awesome Steve!

thank you, I thought I recognized them

I had started doing an altered wheelbase 62 as well back when they first came out and I dont remember where it went. I wonder if thats why one of my kits is missing its body haha
