  1. I briefly had a Cavalier kit, if it was any indicator of how this started you did a fantastic job cleaning it up. Beautiful job on it!
  2. Very clean work, that turned out great!
  3. Looks good, nice to see one of these built up. I have one to be started (hopefully) soon.
  4. Very nice! The color looks perfectly suited to the lines of the Ford.
  5. Always good to see this one built, nice job on it!
  6. Awesome job on this!
  7. It's a great series, I picked them all up over the course of several years and am very happy with all of them.
  8. I've had mixed results using nail polish in the past, hence my hesitation on going outside of hobby colors. With my luck I'd get a perfect color, test it on a scrap piece with good results, then have the 50-year-old hood craze on me. I know there's a chance for *any* paint to go sideways, I'm just looking to minimize my risk.
  9. I want to finally get these two out of the stash and built, but I'm a little stuck on what colors/paints would be best. Officially, his is painted "Murano Gold" and hers is is painted "Hot Candy Pink," but trying to figure out what that translates to (vintage or current) has been an exercise in frustration. So I want to see if anyone here has any suggestions, especially interested to hear if anyone has attempted or completed this set already. I'm open to pretty much anything - rattle can, airbrush, Tamiya, ScaleFinishes, MCW, Mr.Hobby, Zero, etc. - but would like to keep it to hobby paints since I want to play it safe with this vintage plastic. Thanks in advance!
  10. Thanks for the close looks and comparisons, it's very helpful! I've also looked at a few of these over the years, and while I don't necessarily mind caricature cars I prefer to know that's what I'm getting before I buy.
  11. Thanks for that, your photos and description make it clear on how it's done. I've done some casting and have worked with those paints several times, now it's just a matter of putting all the pieces together!
  12. The color and finish look fantastic, nice work!
  13. As a former '84 owner, I've always liked the look of these Monte Carlos. Jevries used to do an LS conversion for the Monogram kit, not sure if he still makes them or not but might be worth dropping him a line. He's at https://www.facebook.com/Jevrieslowriders.
  14. Sharp work as always! I particularly like the way you modernized the red panels - instantly recognizable while properly fitting the lines of this car.
  15. Nice subtle work on the weathering, this looks great!
  16. Very clean work, it turned out great!
  17. Excellent save, this turned out fantastic! Can you tell us more about how you did the pleasted dash? I just happen to have one on the bench right now that needs the same treatment and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it.
  18. Thanks, guys!
  19. Excellent work, I especially like the detail of the open wing window!
  20. Thanks, guys! I hit up eBay for these - there are a lot of sellers parting out both AMT and Monogram '57 kits, and you can get a set for less than a set of Pegasus or Aoshima aftermarkets.
  21. Thanks! It's amazing how such a relatively small change makes such a big difference.
