we just give trophies for 1st thru 3rd and have trophies for best of show best theme best detail best interior and best paint. I jus love the metting of modelers and meeting new people

Starting to get ready for the show

okay I have one I just started after I saw this I will get some pics forgot to take before pics as I am as always chopping another kit

I have noticed the same thing Harry. Really ruins the look you are going after. The 55 chevy I am working on right now after I removed the excess I had to relly burnish it down to get it to look nice.

I try to go to 5 shows each year 2 of them are 4 hour trips one way and another is 2 hours away from me. A couple of them are along with car shows so get to see some cool cars along with the contest. I don't go to win the trophies though. I just go to the shows to meet new people nad usually spend money at the swap meets to get stuff and kits I can't get at a hobby shop. Of course my Closest well stocked hbby shop is 2 hours away.

Is it to late to join in on this?

Like the title says I am looking for a Buick Nailhead engine. Which kits have them? Hoping I have a kit that has the engine in it so if I know which one it is in I won't have to go through my Whole stash to find it.

But SA isn't worth starting my wood burner with. Seems like all they do is keep showing the same peoples models and the articles are the same every month. Atleeast Model cars has some good subjects and articles when it arrives . Last scale auto I bought tooka total of 5 minutes to read. Just so boring anymore.

Nope Not any more Set My mind on what I want to build and if it don't fit that critireaI don't buy it. As of right now have been selling all my kits that don't fit in

Well I did it again while working on another project I started another. I have like 20 going now as of starting this one.I strted with another 49 Merc from Revell. I have been thinking about this one for a while. Taking some ideas from 3 or 4 different 1 to 1 Mercs I have seen on the internet and at some car shows. First I chopped the rear of the roof some more leaving the front as it came. The B pillars are going to be slanted forward on this . Got the rear of the roofchopped and starting on a pie section starting at about a scale 3 inches and going to about the middle of the doors. Going to add rear fenders that look like a 51 Merc.

Nope don't buy from NAPA around here anymore their prices are higher than anybody else. I know as I have been price checking alot latelt as I have spent $3000 on my car in the last year as I put a new Engine int and Advance Auto parts has beat everybody in prices and to topit of if they don't have it they acn have it at the store in 2 hours

Really nice work Always wanted to do one with a carson top now I may use your technique to do one instead of buying one done already.

Revell makes a 2 door Hardtop

So when you are done with The 1/8 scale one be a real man and do it on a 1/25 scale car!! LOL Hope you take lots of pics as you are doing this would be neat to see it all done Good Luck Harry!!

I go to car shows and get ideas. When I find one I really like I take a bunch of pictures of it. Then i try and replicate it. If I don't have the kit then I try it on another kit.
