Mission Models paint thinner
NOBLNG replied to eldo60's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This blue is Mission Models, but unfortunately I don’t recall if or what I might have thinned it with…sorry.? Edit: Here is a link to their website: https://missionmodelsus.com/pages/tips-and-tricks-faq#:~:text=We have found great success,to find the best mix. -
I have quite a few of the LP lacquers and prefer to airbrush them. I will brush them on small parts if I don’t want to dirty the airbrush or head out to the garage to spray. They are quite thin and fairly “hot”. They will remelt Tamiya primer, so when brushing it, I prefer to put it on bare plastic. I like to do one really light coat, then a heavier one after it has dried.

That came out looking real nice Bob!? Great build all around.? -
Sweet looking Corvette Louis!? I like all the under hood details too.

Extrusions of styrene can be turned into objects that are awe inspiring.

We had a Raccoon with no tail coming around to feast on the cat food a couple years ago. Now it’s just the cats and the Magpies. And that orange cord goes to a heated water bowl for the cats.

That would be awesome to discover!? They are all gone now no doubt…he took those pictures in 2005 he said.? -
I did have a bottle of it at one time. I don’t think it did much of anything for me. I do have a prescription for a steroid spray, but I’m not using anything right now.

Not our cat , just a stray that the wife feeds. We made this shelter a couple years ago and he/she? has moved in. It is not very timid but chums around with a black one that is extremely skittish. They will both be in the shelter together, but any noise and the black one runs.

Life, for some unfortunately, has many challenges.

2021 Pierce Ascendent Tower

Glad you solved the windshield issue Charles…it would be a shame to have to buy some blueberry scones just for the packaging.? Seriously, it is fascinating to watch your builds come together. The amount of work you do to get the details correct and to blend all the different materials together is inspiring to say the least. I obviously miss some of the most fascinating work by not frequenting this big rig section more often. -

It looks really nice! Pretty crafty solution for the paint treatment.? -
This is coming along nicely Jim!? I like the leather look you achieved on the seats.

Here’s a better look at the Pledge treatment. The blower has one coat of Chrom straight from the can, and then dipped twice in Pledge, about 12 hours apart. The rim is the kit chrome from the Foose Impala.

It’s amazing what the camera will pick out that the eye doesn’t notice.? It is really looking sharp now Kevin.?

Thanks everyone. I wasn’t liking that green paint anymore, so I decided on a new color scheme and did some extra detailing on the interior.? I scrounged through my parts box for hours looking for a set of wheels and tires that would fit and look Ok.? Then I sifted through my unbuilt kits and came up with the ones from the Foose Impala. The rears fit straight on with a tiny sleeve of styrene tube. The front I had to lower and make new spindles from .156” evergreen…but the ride height is now set.? I drilled out some of my cast brake rotors to fit the Foose rims, and fabbed up some rudimentary caliper brackets. The brakes will barely be visible through the wheels, but I figured I should have something there. That’s all for now Folks…on to the engine bay.?

? I’ll never get hooked on nasal spray again. It was nice when clogged up, to take a shot and within minutes be able to breath clearly again. But the rebound effect made the clogging worse and I wound up using it three times a day.? If I went out for an evening and forgot to bring some along, I couldn’t enjoy myself because I’d be obsessed with my clogged nose.? I have been totally clean now for a couple months and the nose is nowhere near as bad as when I was on the stuff.

Fantastic details you’ve added Andy, and it is looking mighty fine!? The original car deserves this sort of tribute.

Well done Bob.? Nice work on the foil.

Super nice pair of Novas John!?
