That definitely looks nicer than the Revell version!? I may attempt to copy your efforts James.

Ever lose a built model car in the house?

Well I don’t feel so bad now. I’ve never “lost” anything. All my missing parts have been stolen by Bench Gremlins or devoured by the Carpet Monster.? -
AARP, AARP sounds like something that might be said by a seal.

It shouldn’t be too difficult to fabricate some from styrene sheet? They aren’t stock, so they don’t have to match exactly. As long as the two sides look the same…JMO.

I re-scribed the doors and moved the door line forward slightly and added a bit of thickness to the window frame. I wanted to add some stiffening ribs to the roof, so I made a pattern on tape so they are not all parallel on the slightly wedge shaped roof. I cut 1/8” wide strips from .015” sheet and glued them in place. I got a little over zealous sanding them down on my first attempt, so I wound up scraping them off.? This time I laid down three layers of Tamiya tape between the ribs and sanded them all down to that level, then reduced it to two layers of tape. To get rid of the “glued on” look, I painted all the edges with a few coats of Tamiya grey primer (in the square bottles). When dry I sanded away most of the primer, making a smooth transition between roof and rib, giving more of a stamped appearance. That’s all for now until I figure out what I am doing for a drivetrain.?

I’ve been itching to get at this one ever since I picked it up this summer. All comments, criticism, or advice welcome as always.? I decided it needed a bit of an angle chop, so I made a tape pattern and sprayed some black primer on to mark the cuts. It didn’t take long to realize that there was no way I was going to be able to get those doors looking and operating well.?I mean where do you draw the line between determination and insanity?? So I made a pattern and clad the entire inner sides with a layer of .015” Evergreen sheet and glued it in with Tamiya extra thin. I drilled the visor just because I like that look, and countersunk the backside so it doesn’t look too thick at the holes. Then I slathered on some Milliput since there was a bit of a dip at the back edge of the doors. While I was at it I filled the ejector pin marks on the interior and the transition between the Evergreen sheet and the body. A bit of sanding and it looks more like what I’m looking for.
