  1. I agree the paint looks great. It should be a right fine looking model when assembled.πŸ‘
  2. Unfortunately John the builder hasn’t been on here since 2017. Too bad because this is an awesome creation! I hope he is well.😎
  3. You could chuck a piece of evergreen in a drill or lathe and use a razor saw and triangle file to shape some? What is the approximate diameter you need?
  4. Thanks for all the compliments Fellas!πŸ™‚ They are beautiful cars and now I think I did it justice.
  5. Beer goes great with anything from the barbecue.
  6. Great looking pair of old Chenys!πŸ‘
  7. Looking back on my posts…page 11 (Nov 20th) the emojis are still there. page 12 (Nov 19th) and anything previous they have disappeared.
  8. Loved the movie, and your version of the interceptor looks great! Very cool.😎
  9. Nice rebuild Jeff, it looks great!😎
  10. Outstanding work Gerry! That is one beautiful looking Camaro!😎
  11. Looking great so far Joseph. Nice work on the engine.πŸ‘
  12. Population expansion is actually the earth’s most significant threat over the long haul.
  13. Well it turns out the center nose piece was also (or maybe the only thing) interfering with the hood closure. I should have filed down the width of it before paint so that it would sit closer down to the bumper.πŸ₯΄ Anyways, I filed it down and touched it up a bit and good enough.😬 I am calling it done. Thanks for all the compliments and encouragement along the way folks!πŸ™‚ More pics under glass Here: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/198033-β€˜64-pontiac-gto/
  14. This is the old Monogram kit. It is actually a very nice kit.😎 I opened up the side windows to the hardtop version, lowered the front a tad, added the vinyl roof and a few underhood details. Paint is Tamiya TS-11 Maroon with Mr. Hobby clear. Thanks for lookin’. Build thread: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/139261-64-pontiac-gto/#comments
  15. Nice Bill ! I like the silicone tube idea. I have a couple I made very similar to your original one. I used coat hanger and it seems to have enough spring to it. The holes make it easier to hang on to.
  16. Thanks everyone. I get lots of ideas and inspiration from all of you so I am happy whenever I get a chance to contribute something in return.πŸ™‚
  17. Girlfriend and wife should hopefully be one and the same.
  18. Fabulous work on that interior Dennis!πŸ‘πŸ˜Ž
  19. A lot of kits have not much more than a lump for a rad cap. Here is how I make better ones. Glue two pieces of 0.030” or 0.040” half round to a piece of 0.080” round stock. Drill a 0.020”-0.030” (depending on what small styrene rod you have) hole in the center and countersink it slighty with a 1/16” drill bit. Slice off a sliver (I used a razor saw to get a straight cut). Push the small rod in flush to the top (you can add a small spacer if to want to add an overflow tube). Drill a mounting hole in the rad and glue in place. Keep the leftover chunk for the next time you need one.πŸ™‚
  20. Looks really great!πŸ‘
  21. Event horizon is what I started out researching and when I crawled back out of the rabbit hole that consisted of all sorts of theoretical stuff like black holes and time travel over an hour had elapsed.
  22. I should have made some positive bumper mounts sooner. The lumps at the rear are what I assume would be the mounts on a 1:1, but they are about 1/8” short of touching the bumper.😑 The only contact points on both bumpers is the painted body….so after locating them both with a small amount of CA, I attached some tabs to bridge the gap with epoxy. After a bit of paint they won’t be too noticeable.😬 I had to lengthen the upper rad hose and shorten the lower one. I’m pretty sure I have the rad in correctly, but when I made a shallow rad cap the hood would not close flush. So I converted the rad to a cross flow sort of. The rad should have been lowered a bit I think.πŸ€”
  23. Steve, your attention to detail is amazing and your fit and finish talents are second to none.😎
  24. No Carl, this was two separate orders. One was the sand/polishing discs and mandrels. The other was the sanding drums and mandrels.
  25. Cool project Dave! I like this era of Beaumonts. I had a β€˜69 with a 307? and also a β€˜68 Chevelle 4dr i6 and powerglide.
