It looks like someone misread the instructions for their kit car?😳 -
Face it…an english teacher would be horrified by this thread.😳

Attack that stack of unbuilt models on your shelf this year with unbridled enthusiasm.

31 days is exceeding February’s allotment by three.

Great scratch building skills Martin! I like the concept too.😎

Well it’s been a few weeks since I looked at the instructions,🥴 but the actual pins don’t seem long enough to get melted? That does seem to ring a bell though….maybe I read it on someone’s build thread?🧐 Now that I look out of curiosity, the only reference to joining the steering components is this picture.

Sentences are what this thread is all about and the very first ones on page one explain how it SHOULD work.🤔

And don’t forget to read the product packaging for more info.🤯

What was your first truck model?

I don’t recall what kit it was, but it was a Peterbilt. I watched the tv show “Movin On”, so that would make me 13 or 14 years old at the time. I haven’t built one since but I do have an AMT Peterbilt Wrecker and a Monogram 1926 Mack log hauler waiting on the shelf. -

Beautiful work detailing those rims and tires!😎

Your Phaeton is coming along nicely.I like the steering box you made.👍 I didn’t bother with one since very little is visible inside this one.

Beautiful work as always!👍 I too am always impressed with the whole lighting aspect of your builds.

Looking real nice Joe!👍😎

Nice work so far Fabrizio!👍 You can’t go wrong with black and red.😎

Thanks for the compliments fellas!🙂 The kit has some very nice steering components, but they won’t work with my modifications. Plus, they are meant to be glued in place I think, and I want pose-able steering. So I made a new steering arm from evergreen and a new tie rod and drag link from .047” brass rod.

Well that turned out to be a half-baked plan.🙄 I couldn’t get seats to fit up into place with those floor pan sections attached to the body. So I re-attached the lower sections to the frame. The rearward part will still work as is. I have been working on mounting the dash and a few blocks of evergreen glued to the dash and firewall give it a positive mounting location. I scratch built a tilt steering column and mounted it to the dash. Also made patterns for the windows. That’s all for now.🙂
