  1. Sweet looking Camaro Bruce...where in Pa are you.
  2. Thank you Helmut..it was a nice kit. That had to be quite the accomplishment. As you know I went after this kit for my Martini collection. More than likely it is discontinued. If I spot one I will give you a heads up.
  3. This kit was purchased specifically for my Martini collection and is my first Model Factory Hiro resin. Must say I really liked this kit. Well engineered . This car was driven bt Helmut Marko and Rudy Lins in the 1970 Lemans. They placed third. Model is painted with Tamiya LP2 white overall with Mr Color #3 Red and #4 yellow. There are a few added details as described under the photos. Thanks for looking and comments welcome. Finished kit on my new Watkins Glen background. Kit wheels are poseable. This was done about 4yrs ago and not part of the kit. Wheels are painted Tamiya Dark Iron. Rear view. There is an engine in there but no suspension detail. The rear flap adjusters are 2mm pieces of black tape with PE nuts. Those rear fins gave me some trouble as well as the green strips. Overall the decals were outstanding and had a nice shine to them. Cockpit detail was a little sparse but had some nice PE seatbelts. I added the small wind screen and PE fasteners. There was lots of great body details ion this kit.
  4. Jason...thanks for the reply. I go through about 7-9 cans of TS-13 a year so its not the old formula. I mostly de-cant and airbrush which means you get less paint solvent and more paint. The airbrush atomizes the paint finer which makes it dry faster. I use Mr Color leveling thinner a lot or Tamiya laquer thinner. This only happens to me with Tamiya silvers which have a slight texture when dry. I have had to resort to waterbase clears (Tamiya X-22 for example) to avoid this. I have the entire line of the new Tamiya LS and that sprays fantastic and the clear in that is great too although only available in those small bottles. BTW do mix the LS with decanted TS spray. They congeal up like cottage cheese. I have both Ferrari GTBs done but will follow your WIP. Thanks for putting it up
  5. Jason ...if this turns out as good as the Spyder then it is going to be a killer project. Like the color (although I am kinda a red Ferrari guy) as it suits this car well. My experience with TS13 over Tamiya silvers is that the clear has a tendency to eat into the base coat and pull it down in places. How have you solved this or doesn't it happen to you.
  6. Doug...she's a beauty. Gotta luv rallye cars...so much detail and covered in decals. You got this one,,,good job.
  7. Followed the WIP...looks even better under the skin. I'd say its seven months well spent. Awesome job Chris.
  8. Great job Bruce, you are definetly getting there. Those Heller kits are not the easiest but you got this one.
  9. I really enjoyed this kit. Yours turned out great. Good job.
  10. Jim I think you overcame all your difficulties and turned out a nice model. Those decals were tricky but you nailed them. Good work
  11. beautiful build, beautiful photography, very well done Anders. Really like that interior.
  12. John...will be following this one. Somewhere buried deep in the stash I have this kit as an original Heller. Was interested to hear all the other info on this car. Had no idea they were that fast.
  13. Very attractive Hanjo...nice job.
  14. Justin...the Testors kit is more than likely an Ex-Fujimi enthusiast series. A great little kit with lots of tiny detail. Enjoy the build, you are off to a great start already. Will follow it to the finish.
  15. Really like the color on this one. Suits the Porsche marque very well. What paint color is that??
  16. Beautiful workmanship and photography. As per usual Mario...well done.
  17. OK....Dave...going to let the cat out of the bag. George Follmers ( it was spelled Fellmer) last name is spelled wrong. Whoever did the decal sheet (it was great other wise) got this wrong. It will sit near the Chappy 2H . Thanks for the compliment.
  18. I also have the Focus and the Pescarolo. I thought the company had a future as those kits were still buggers but were getting there. Too bad ,,,hate to see a company go.
  19. Mike...this kit was indeed a "bugger" as your post points out. I had major problems with the door fit. But it looks like your perservearance has paid off and you have succeeded with a great looking model. Congrats on a job well done. When did S'imil R go out of business ?
  20. Helmut...they are indeed missing as none came with the kit and I wasn't thinking of adding them since you would be barely able to see them. You must have crawled in the car when I wasn't looking. Still not the error though!
  21. There are more than a few errors in this post and you are very correct. Was in a hurry to get it up and I will attempt to correct it.
