Testors factory colors.
Sandboarder replied to Mike C.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Well there still is factory colour options in the modelling products. https://www.zero-paints.com/Dodge_Sublime_Pearl_Green_Paint_60ml--product--267.html -
The E7 chrome sealer is a clear coat that does not do this. It’s design specifically for chrome finishes.

Hmmm both of your posts don’t add much creative discussion about the subject only criticism or policing if I may say. I was waiting silently for @Dpate to hopefully show a test, the results and conclusion/opinion of a product I will probably buy in the future.

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!
Sandboarder replied to Belairconvertable's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That can be done OK so it’s 90% finished in this pic Not every mock up makes it to paint, let alone finished. Doing mock up is great to try ideas and test fit parts. -

Advice for 1st time airbrush user
Sandboarder replied to Kevinch's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I only use Lacquer’s and wear a respirator so I don’t breathe in any fumes. I’ve never airbrushed any other type of paint tbh. Each to their own but yes using an airbrush opens up a lot of possibilities. -

Ive have done this before but the mindset I had was to paint the model and the tape. Only overspray went on the bag. I think if your using paper or something as a mask. You should have adequate masking tape before the paper so only overspray hits the paper. You can’t really mask an area off and then have a heavy hand on your paint job as well. BTW welcome back Steve

Unfortunately hobby shops need to sell the “bad” BMF before they restock the newest BMF. -

Your local hobby shop should sell something like this designed for Hobby use. https://www.bnamodelworld.com/zero-paints-zp-2002-125-fast-mover-tools-fmt5125-paper-paint-strainer-125-micron-ultra-fine Without a picture only you can see the finish. So only you can decide if a wet sand will remove all of the “issues”

When your applying the gloss it is very easy to see where you have covered or missed as it’ll look wet or dry. Any mist or overspray looks dry and dull so you put a coat over those areas and they look wet and dry glossy. I have glossed over decals. Nothing special was done. Paint model in chosen colours. Apply decal, waiting a little longer then normal to dry and then apply the clear coat exactly the same way I applied the base colour. No issues with decals, no missed spots. Please don’t ignore advice and be stubborn like PlumCrazyPreston. Even if it’s not what you want to hear, take all advice on board.

Leave the front of the Nova stock and drop the rear a little for that squatting stance all the trucks are frothing over atm. Im serious tho, it’ll be like all the XY’s getting around that are stock in the front and dropped in the rear.

Tamiya TS orange straight from the can. When I get back to this build I will use a clear coat and polish before calling it finished. I dont use many solid colours so this is the only example I have.
