Revell Kenworth W900
Bills72sj replied to JordanFordF1's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
This is better big rig tire stuffing. It is called 3/8" window backer rod available at home improvement stores. Less than $5 and can do probably 10 semi trucks. -
Quarter mile Cuda’s Sox and Martin 70 & 71
Bills72sj replied to dragmodels44's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Nice builds. I love the paint scheme(s). I vividly remember watching Sox & Martin race at Cornhusker raceway in NE when I was a kid (my dad was a drag racer). He was up against a dark red 69 Chevelle. The Chevelle driver red lit. I even remember which lanes they were in. -
Very nice! I have one of those. Do you have a build thread to go with it?

Very nice dashboard detail. How did you get such nice BF Goodrich lettering on Goodyear tires? -
Just order this from ebay for less than $37 with shipping. I will have just about one of every truck and trailer that I want. The only thing left on my wishlist is a KW K-123.

You are truly a MASTER builder. The detail you put into your build is quite impressive. -
Congratulations SAM! I got one of those last fall and expect another one (a Doctor no less!) coming October.

BRBO Freightliner SD. 1/1/20
Bills72sj replied to BaBaBooey's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Agreed, usually the part price is reasonable but add shipping and you can buy a whole kit to rob parts from. Then there is Sam with a BAZZILION parts to beg, borrow and buy from. -
I am liking the duck tail spoiler feature and the Ford GT rims. I agree, it has a more OEM look.

Very nice result.

Private party one town away. There was another one with a large 1 piece sliding glass door for $200 but he did not respond in time. This case just BARELY fit in my wife's Durango with 1" to spare.

I'm running out of room.

Extra shelves really help. -
Now that I am building again, I wanted a safe place to display my models away from our cat and future toddlers. I do not have that many models built (yet) but I started looking on Craigslist and found this beauty for $90. It is wide enough to accomodate the length of a built semi truck rig and deep enough for two side by side. It presently has 4 glass shelves but I added 4 more for only $53 including shipping. It has a light in the top and a mirrored back panel. My wife resisted at first but since I make the house payments, is it too much to ask to control more than two walls in one room vs. her control of the entire house? Now I have more space than completed builds. I better get to it! Here is a pic taken before I finished my 4 Chevelles.

You pretty much nailed it. It is a BUSINESS. I love to watch sci-fi but do not build any. I am a 50's to 70's car guy. I'll take what I can get at a reasonable price.

I got it last night but a refresh got me in. Has been working every time this morning.
