  1. That is way cool. I love FEDs
  2. I am building 3 '65's and a '66. Thanks for the info on the 8-lugs. (Not that I can change the caps at this point)
  3. Continuing with all 4 interior bits. Erased (sanded and scraped) window cranks from interior tubs. Going to create window cranks from craft store bits. Modified all the seat bases to properly tuck in. Fabricated shifters with boots for three of the 4-speed shifters.
  4. If you build one. I will follow your build. I have two convertibles and 2 hardtops with opening doors. (very intimidating)
  5. Hit my Salem, OR HL today. Got another parts donor Pro Street Nova for $13.79. I also grabbed some paints, brushes, Molotow, and other detailing stuff from other departments. The shelves were pretty well stocked with kits I already have. I did see an empty spot for the new Revell 71 442 I have been hankering for.

    First Diorama

Good luck on your diorama. Mine went WAY over budget but it turned out pretty nice. View the details and see what could work for you. My walls are foam board covered in white brick paper from Hobby Lobby. The floor is layers of a tall narrow poster with checkerboard paper under clear. It includes a layer of sheet metal so that I could install magnets in the bottom of tipsy items. I just recently got some figures for it. 7. Very nice build up. I am currently have a stalled 75 being back dated to a 74.
  8. Thank you Dennis. Thank you David.
  9. I am not really sure. My younger sister spent the time and effort to convert 35mm transparency slides to digital format. I am talking like 3 decades worth.
  10. Thank you Bob. Blue has been my favorite since I was a kid. Robert, Thanks for sharing. Thank you Trevor.
  11. Thank you Trevor.
  12. Thanks Bob, I was shooting for a darker red but this is what came out. It is pretty though. Robert, Cool story. I am semi-replicating a 66 2+2 I saw at a car show many years ago. Thank you David.
  13. Thanks Bob, I wanted metallic black. Thanks Robert, I have been enjoying it so far. I have owned this kit for quite some time. The color is Testors Metallic black from a bottle. Airbrushed it using 50% lacquer thinner. I used to watch Iron Resurrection back when I had cable.
  14. Break out of my '66 Bonneville in to its own WIP thread. Body in color.
  15. Break out of my '65 2+2 in to its own WIP thread. Body in color.
  16. Break out of my '65 Grand Prix in to its own WIP thread. Body in color.
  17. Break out of my '65 Bonneville WIP into its own thread. Body is in color.
  18. I have had the best luck using BMF then coloring in amber with a "Marigold" colored Ultra Fine Point Sharpie.
  19. How does the 65 Promo body compare to the HT in this kit? I have two of these.
  20. I agree.. They were just too lame.
  21. Wat cool! I did the Matador version like 45 years ago
  22. Inspired by Steve G., I am going to attempt to modify the bucket seats like he did. They will never be seen in the finished models but at least I can get the practice in on these. The 1st two pics are what Steve has done with his. The last 3 are the start of my attempt(s).
  23. Glue first, cut and sand later. Got it. Sharpened toothpicks (one of the most useful tools) and lacquer thinner. I was using fine point cotton swaps and acetone. I also applied my foil before primer. Lesson learned. Thank you. As an aside, I saw what you did with your front seat bases. As they come they are all wrong. I just cut my 3 sets of bucket from their consoles. I am going to take a swing at duplicating what you did.
  24. I understand. It is not worth the effort for me at this time. I will just live with the excess wheelbase.
