  1. Thanks Mike! I haven't made much progress lately, with spring chores unfortunately taking priority over my favorite hobby. I hope to be able to show you a few things sooner or later as the outdoor chores are going well with the warm temperatures of May. I hope to see you soon on the forum, your work is always inspiring my friend! Francis
  2. Beautiful build Brian, despite the fact that it is an old '68 it will still provide years of good and loyal service to the next owner, it is obvious that it has been very well maintained! These old work horses are unstoppable!!! ?
  3. Great work (as usual...) Daniel, an ingenious builder like you is never caught off guard! These little PC board bits are so handy and make very straight and precise holes, hard to do without them once you've mastered their strengths and weaknesses... I love the work you did on the direction so far, it's great art my friend! ?
  4. Thanks Brian! Your work inspires me a lot and I must say that I bought my first big truck kit last week since I was a kid thanks to builders like you who never cease to impress me. It won't be for tomorrow but just another project for retirement when free time will be more abundant... ? Francis
  5. Thanks for the compliment Dave! It's a bit embarrassing to say but despite my age (I'm still in my 50's) I'm a bit of a dinosaur, I don't have a smart phone (no cell phone actually...) so no good way to make videos. I'm not at that level in my hobby and I think that adding this part to my projects would only increase the time of realization which I must admit is already very long or slow... I am however quite open to explain how I made any part to anyone who asks for it. Francis
  6. Nice ramp truck John! I'll have to build one of these someday.... This is the perfect base for a drag racing team project, I love it!!! ?
  7. You can be proud of it Jim, it's a beauty, the color is great and the assembly is super clean! It's also very different from what you've been offering lately, it proves you're a true model enthusiast! ?
  8. It looks cool Ray! I've never bought a Moebius kit but it looks pretty nice. Great color combo... again, your paint job looks very smooth too! Well done my friend!!! ?
  9. It's very nice Ian! The natural sunlight makes it pop, the red graphics will only add to the beauty of this great funny car! ?
  10. There's no doubt about it, you know how to make the best out of a resin kit Brian! It's an outstanding quality, once again we feel like we're looking at a picture of a real vehicle and that's a definite mark of success! You impress me sir, it will sell in no time!!! ?
  11. I am glad to see you back on another project Daniel and it looks very cool, we can see small pieces of brass, I love it!!! I can already see your magic touch working, it's promising... and I can promise to be a loyal visitor!!! ?
  12. Thanks Lorne! You have added my name to an impressive list and I am honored! I still think I have a lot to prove before I deserve this status and I take your comments with a lot of humility my friend. I dream of the day when we can all be together in the same room to share our common passion. It doesn't cost much to dream, in the meantime there is this forum and I think it fulfills its mission rather well. Thank you my friend, you are yourself a very talented builder! ? Francis
  13. Thanks Claude! You know all too well how twisted the headers are on a Mopar and mine is no exception! In addition to my age, I am limited by the size of my tools so you can sleep easy, I will leave the part as is... until I get smaller bits...lol. I also can't wait to see you in person with your impressive arsenal my friend! Francis
  14. Hey Tim! I am glad to see you my friend! Many of these parts are a first for me and could benefit of some improvement. I am a very tough judge of my work and I am quite pleased with the response and feedback I am receiving. The symphony is not yet complete but I hope to finish it in the next few months before the melody is a tune that is no longer of its time... I hope I will not become the next "one hit wonder"... Francis
  15. Thanks Marcos, I really appreciate your support my friend! Francis
  16. Hello everyone! I had just a few hours at the bench this week and haven't much progress made on the truck. The only part I was able to make is the steering shaft with the articulated joints at both ends. The part is rather small but very delicate to make. You can see that the position of the truck cab has nothing in common with a Corvette and the shaft has a strong angle to connect the steering box. The good news is that the joints work great even though this is not exactly how I wanted to make them. The opening is only 0.031" and it was rather difficult (at least for me) to make them "universal joint" type in such a small space. I take this opportunity to upload the pictures I took of the rack and pinion modification before I mounted it on the frame. I had to modify it to be thinner under the oil pan because the previous one was interfering with it. I hope to bring you more next week! Francis Brass gear box in the milling. Finished gear box. Pinion rack steering components. Assembled modified part. Note that I plated the assembled part just before mounting it on the frame. Steering shaft joint in progress. Link of the articulated joint during the machining process, the part is 0.030" thick, holes are 0.020". Pre-assembly. Different view. One down one to go... A different view on my big index finger. Final steering shaft with articulated joints on both ends. Test fit on the truck, and it fits!!! ?
  17. Thanks for the exaggeration Tim! I have to admit that I really like this old truck but I am working hard to follow in your footsteps speaking of perfection! I'm not there yet, unfortunately, but I'm pretty proud of what I've done so far! ? Thanks for your kind comments by the way! Francis
  18. You've done some amazing detail again Charlie! This is masterful work my friend, the assembly is progressing beautifully, I love everything I see! ?
  19. This is a very nice kit and well molded with nice details. I have always loved these early 60's pickups and you did a great job Ray. As others have mentioned, the color combination is unique and will give a unique result. I like it a lot! ?
  20. The pictures do not appear Scott, there is just a URL link.
  21. Thanks for the superlative Scott! I don't know if it really deserves it but I take it with a lot of humility knowing the talent of the person who said it...! ? I still have a few small items to add (engine/transmission and driveshaft are the most obvious...lol) and I hope to continue with more updates in the coming weeks. Francis
  22. Thanks Marcos, your support and comments are always appreciated my friend! Francis
  23. Thanks for the explanation Richard, it makes sense! The world of drag racing is full of rules and subtleties and it's nice to be able to have our questions answered so easily! I assume this body extension is reserved for the Pro Mod class? PS: Sorry Marcos if we use your thread as a discussion place... ?
  24. Thanks Trevor, I've spent a lot of time on this thing since the beginning and I have to say I'm pretty happy with the result so far despite all the changes I've been forced to make! Francis
