Yet another stunning and compelling build to be mistaken for the real thing! A great advertisement for an unknown caster! Well done again Brian!!! -
Very nice and clean build Michael! Awesome paint job, perfect stance and beautiful engine bay details, you can be proud of!

Brian, what size of display case do you have? It is not fair to put the picture of a real truck and pass it off as a scale model! Jokes aside, he's just great, yellow suits him really well! Another success to your credit my friend!!! ? -

I agree with your new color choice, it makes the details stand out even more. I wouldn't hesitate to keep it in my airplane hanger... if I had one! I LOVE it!!! ? -

Hey Dave, thanks for the comment and kind offer! I don't have the real thing on hands but I found some basic informations online including the following: - Holley Dominator 4500 series have 2.000" throttle bore diameter with 0.750" of spacing between them - Throttle plate bolt pattern is 5.380". I used these basic measurements as a starting point for the main body so I hope they are accurate... don't hesitate to let me know if I'm wrong! I don't expect to achieve something as spectacular (and mind-blowing...) as Tim's last effort, but something as compelling as possible and an improvement on the one I did for my '70 GTX. Thanks for your visit and support, I do appreciate! Take care, Francis -

Superb job Dan, I love the last details! It is a disproportionate project not to play on words! You will have to reserve a table just for yourself at the next exhibition! Great work sir!!! -

Thanks, Charlie! Regardless of the brand, there are several ways to machine an aluminum engine block. Tim (Codi) has done an amazing job with his 429 engine block, so you should take a look at the photos from his Maverick thread. I will be very happy to give you a hand if you need it! Take care, Francis -

Thanks Kerry! I hope I can finish the Holley by the end of next week, I'm on vacation this week so maybe more bench time, we expect quite a bit of rain... ? Take care, Francis -
Sorry to the dumb question Jim (this information has probably been shared thousands of times...), but what is your choice of adhesive to temporarily glue the grains of salt in place? I am not yet brave enough to embark on this process but would be interested in testing the technique in an old body, the effect is so convincing and realistic!
-
Jim you make me drooling on my computer's keyboard! This weathering job (and the technique) is simply fantastic! Keep these doors (and the whole cabin) well hidden in your basement as Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz from American Pickers will come to your area and try to buy them, they can't resist to this kind of stuff!!!

Thanks for the comments and kind offer Tim! Indeed, I had already thought of using this technique but I have never gone further. My workbench is already full of tools of all kinds and I found that I had to persevere in being satisfied with what I had at my disposal... for now... ? This carburetor will certainly be better (I hope...) than my last effort for the '70 GTX but certainly no comparaison with the FANTASTIC set you just finished for the Maverick. I still have crusts to eat to achieve the level of precision you provide with every part you make and you are always an inspiration to push me to make better pieces. I will certainly contact you for your valuable advice on the subject (media blasting) if I decided to get started! Take care, Francis -

Thanks Charlie! Anodizing is just another great feature to make beautiful parts look even more beautiful, but it does require a lot of cleaning and care to avoid any visual blemishes in the end. This can be done with a 2 amp battery charger but I bought a variable power source in order to get the exact amount of current depending on the size of the parts to be anodized. Please feel free to send me a PM if you need any help or more information on the subject. Take care, Francis -

Glad to see you back in the saddle Jason, I love that project! -
Very cool project Shawn! It's your build, it's your way! I love the potentially very low position, it gives this very long body shell a totally different look. Great start sir!!!

The show goes on and who doesn't love it? I just bought my admission ticket for the next performance... I'm addicted!!! ?

This is super cool Jim and rest assured you deserve all the positive comments you received! The blue paint turns out to be really nice and a great choice for this build. ?

Hello everyone, Just a little update before my work week. Still a lot of work to be done outside and most of my free time is spent doing this on sunny days.? I hope I have completed all of these tasks before the end of the month. So I spent the remaining few hours on the bench working on the next parts for the carburetor. From a brass rod I started to machine the fuel bowls and added Albion brass tubes at each ends. I also drilled 2 holes at angle to add some Albion brass tubes for the fuel inlets. All the tubes are welded and the excess was sanded flat. One down, one to go... Thanks everyone for the comments and encouragement, hope to show you more soon! Take care, Francis Fuel bowl made from brass in the milling chuck Fuel bowl in progress, small tubes welded in place and excess to be sanded. Fuel bowl in progress different view -

Isdera Imperator.....98% scratch build!
AmericanMuscleFan replied to Dann Tier's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I don't know how I missed this thread Dann? That's nothing short of amazing... Creating an entire body from photos or images found on the web is something that is not within everyone's reach. A good example that when you really want something, anything is possible! However, it requires extraordinary skills to reach this level of craftsmanship! ?- 256 replies

Great paint job (as usual...) Jim! I love the way the cabin look on the frame. Another superb build in the making sir!
-
Nice progress Roger, the hood looks great! I love that Lakewood 3 point roll bar, you nailed it sir!

A pure delight for the eyes Tim! I never saw (and didn't know they existed) these carburetors before you showed them to us as an option for this build and was wondering how you could replicate them at 1/25 scale. Now I have another proof that dedication and skill can make great things! I take my hat off to you sir! ?
