  1. Fantastic job as usual Tim! No easy path or expressway to achieve this kind of spectacular part but you will succeed, you surprise us every time...
  2. Strange... I thought that all the parts were molded from 3D printed parts from the real truck? The dimensions of the parts should be rather precise...!?
  3. Thanks for the kind comment Bob! My dad always told me that "anything that deserves to be done deserves to be done well" so I apply that to everything I do, at least I try... Take care, Francis
  4. It's fantastic Charlie! However, don't set those brake pads on fire, I was told the smell of burnt Delrin was horrible. Joke aside, amazing job my friend!!!
  5. Very good job Steven, all your scratch built parts are second to none, your attention to detail is incredible! The mix of a rare old body shell improved with the parts from a newer kit is my favorite kind of project, the best of both worlds... Keep doing the good work!!!
  6. Nice job Bob, I did essentially the same kind of improvement on my MPC '72 Roadrunner with the recent AMT '71 Charger kit (I did a drag car though). It's my favorite type of project not to mention the Roadrunner is one of my favorite Mopar body no matter the year. Keep up the good work!
  7. The engine and detailed suspension kit were shipped last Friday. No rush anyway, it's not something I want to build anytime soon, it will probably be a collector's item by then...?
  8. Great job on the grill Scott, it seem to be a very good match with the one of your friend Louie! Slow progress but you're heading in the right direction, you can't go faster than 1: 1 build anyway, right? Maybe yes in fact...!
  9. Thanks for the kind words Brad! Yes, they do work but they are a little bit on the thick side due to the throttle shaft running through them. I'm also limited by the size of the drill bit, it's quite difficult (for me ...) to drill holes smaller than 0.016 "in brass. You're right, I think I have more fun making parts than putting together the truck itself... I'll making more... ? Take care, Francis
  10. Thanks for sentiment Jim! We will have to meet somewhere between the American and Canadian border to make the exchange, pandemic obliges... ? Take care, Francis
  11. Thanks for the superlatives and the exaggeration Steve! I'm not a jeweler nor a watchmaker but I love wristwatches. I know an amazing retired watchmaker and I wish I had half of his talent... I'm going to have to be satisfied with what I have! This truck is still just a bunch of parts and I hope to put it in my display cabinet before the end of the century... ? Take care, Francis
  12. Thanks Daniel! I do appreciate. Take care, Francis
  13. Thanks for the kind comment Tim, I am glad to see that you are forgiving about small design flaws... I appreciate it! Take care, Francis
  14. Thanks for the comment Edgar, I really appreciate! Take care, Francis
  15. It's a pure beauty Steve! Again, the color is absolutely gorgeous and your polishing seems to have gone pretty well. Please avoid speed bumps, it would be a shame to break this grille!!! ?
  16. Hey Scott, I'm so happy to see you back on this project, I really love this build! The exhaust hangers look great and I also like the flex/expansion pipes, clever and very convincing! ?
  17. The Corvette looks awesome Charlie, all your hard work has paid off and the end result will be exceptional, you can be proud of that my friend! I can't wait to see the photos of the finished product!
  18. Hello everyone, I was on vacation this week to give the last shot on the fall chores but we had a lot of rain (almost every day) so it wasn't very good for outdoor work but more productive than expected on the work bench... I feel a little guilty... but hey, you have to do something with your ten fingers... especially when we have free time and on vacation! ? I called it finished but decided not to do the accelerator pumps because they would be hardly visible hidden between the underside of the fuel bowls and the top of the intake manifold so I hope you will forgive me for that flaw. I will see later if I decide to add them but it is not a priority for the moment, to be continued... I arrive at a total of 70 parts counting all the, components, bolts and structural parts. As usual, your comments are welcome and very appreciated! Take care, Francis Intake plenum spacer (1.000’’ in scale) in progress on the milling rotary table. 19. Thanks Bob, I finished the carburetor yesterday evening so I will post the pics soon, come back and see the final result whenever you want. Take care, Francis
  20. Fantastic job on the hubs and the brake calipers Charlie, pure craftsmanship my friend! Tim's exceptional work is one of the least well kept secrets on I can say and you will have a lot of fun following his work. You are also one of my favorites to follow my friend! ?
  21. Looks gooooooood! No... marvellous! You are an expert in this field my friend!!! I just called the doctor few minutes ago for my tetanus shot... ?
  22. I agree with the others, the aging effect is just fantastic! Each element can be mistaken for real things. Simply outstanding work sir!!! ?
  23. You're right Jim! A friend of mine is an old truck enthusiast (mainly International and Chevrolet) and he restored a few from this era and the front fenders were rusty but still very nice considering their age. It's hard to imagine all the power it takes to form those fenders with this caliber of steel using just an hydraulic press in this era of the industrial age... real steel monsters! Great build sir, I love it, I'm going to make room for it in my shelf... ?
  24. I think that we do have pretty much the same kind of wet weather here on the east coast lately! I was on vacation this week to finish off the fall chores, but it rained almost non-stop. Bad for outside work but pretty good for extra time on the work bench... ? I will also be happy when the time has come to polish the paint on this truck! Patience is certainly one of your qualities my friend!!!
  25. The color is absolutely fantastic Steve! Polishing is generally a long, tedious and delicate process, but one of the most rewarding when done well. I don't remember if you have mentionned that you used lacquer or enamel but on my side I always soak the spray can in hot water to help the gloss coat (or the color) flow better and it's usually reduce the orange peel effect so less polishing time. I have no doubt that you will get through it and that the result will be great, the part you did is proof of thatt!!! ?
