  1. Great, great work Charlie! I love it in yellow, It is an extraordinary project that you are in the process of achieving! You are so close to the finish line my friend!!!
  2. Superb machining Charlie, I don't think you need much help you are a fantastic machinist my friend! I used the same technique as you to make the slotted wheels on my '70 Plymouth GTX by the way. It is great craftsmanship that you are showing us here sir!!!
  3. Hello everyone, At the very beginning of this project, I had the idea to make a twin turbo Hemi for this build but I quickly realized that a setup like this needed a lot of space and modifications to be correctly installed. As I mentioned before, I also wanted to keep the engine bay as OEM as possible and spent a lot of time and effort to achieve this, so I don't want to modify everything to incorporate the turbos. Based on this I decided to go with a Dominator carburetor and keep the engine with a more traditional look, I love carburetors anyway! I spent a few hours on the bench so I started machining, the rest will follow in the next few weeks if I can find some free time. Still work to do around the house and a lot of dead leaves to scrape, I am surrounded by mature trees and fall always keeps me busy. Hope to be back with more regular updates towards the end of October. Thank you to all those who follow and comment on my project, take care of yourself and your loved ones during the pandemic, Francis Holley Dominator top plate Main body in progress. The top plate was machined first and parted from the main body. More progress on the main body and several drill holes done for the components to be made later
  4. Interesting project Brian! No pain no gain... I love every drag racing related project and a '69 Camaro is no exception! Keep doing your good work sir!
  5. Great work Charlie! I think you have posted it in the right section, it's a drag car after all. It seem to be 1/12 scale, is it? Another great project going on my friend!!!
  6. Thanks for the info Sergey, however I realise that this is a product from Russia so I will have to find something equivalent in North America! Thanks anyway, Francis
  7. Nice job Brian, very realistic weathering, looks like It is back from a long haul. I don't remember the last time I saw a real one on the road. Well done sir!!!
  8. A ramp truck with a chop top... What a cool and great way to salvage this precious old body! I can imagine the driver with his left arm out of the cab and the other hand on the steering wheel heading towards the race track with that Valiant on the back.
  9. What's the name or code of that blue color Sergey? It's simply gorgeous and I would be interested to use this kind of blue on one of my builds.
  10. Great update Randy, the muffler is gorgeous and I'm pretty sure about the donor but I'll keep my lips tight. You deserve that superb gift, this Porsche engine is simply out of this world! Hope you will find more bench time in the next weeks or months... your builds are so inspiring sir!!!
  11. Simply brilliant... what else to say... maybe the qualifying adjective "AWESOME" could be used?! Overflowing imagination sir, I love it!!!
  12. I do prefer these wheels too, they give a real off-road and rugged look. Very convincing weathering on the tires. This thing will go anywhere with that ground clearance...
  13. I don't know Roger but it's not really visible in the photos, maybe it's more obvious in person? Would be sad to start over with the hood, the gloss coat looks gorgeous. I have used Dupont Chroma Clear several times and had to redo one of my paint jobs (I was not happy with the color underneath) so I soaked the body in brake fluid for a few days and it worked fine for me.
  14. Very cool subject Tom! The chassis pan fits perfectly and it will be a rare bird when completed! One of my father's co-workers had a '63 Meteor and the family sold it just a few years ago when he passed away, the car had only 35,000 odometer miles and never had driven in winter, unfortunately it was a four-door version... ?
  15. It would be a great pleasure to meet you in person Steve and I do wish it will happen one day! Luckily we have this forum to stay in touch and share during the pandemic situation so yes, I will also bring some of my builds if the opportunity arises. By the way, your style isn't just LOW, it's clean and tastefully done builds!!! ?
  16. Hey, any progress is progress no matter the amount... I just checked the Prius thread and it's a very cool build my friend, I took the time to leave my comments there too. I really love what you do Steeve!
  17. Orange is my favorite color and I do love pizza (as for many) so how could I not love this build? This is truly another good example of your tremendous talent my friend, another success. Now you will have to stop or reduce your pace, I will soon be forced to copy and paste my previous comments, my vocabulary is limited unlike your imagination my friend... Even the pizza looks perfectly cooked... can I have a slice of the all dressed and a slice of your brain please? ??
  18. It's also out of my comfort zone but it's all in your honor to have taken the time to build something for your daughter! It's a cool and very clean build with a bit of the "Steve treatment" with its body so close to the ground. You had fun, she loves it, that's all that matters! Well done sir!!!
  19. This is another interesting project Brian, these old International truck are very cool. I didn't know either that fiberglass can be used to make a body this small, is it what we call "gelcoat" to repair boats shell among other? I know this kind of stuff can produce some very smooth finish.
  20. Sorry for the dumb question, but are the wheels controlled by an independent servo control unit or/and connected in some way to the steering wheel of the tractor? I'm in a totally unknown ground here...
  21. That's looking real good Steve! Everything is so clean and very well crafted so far, I love to see the motor squeezed in the engine bay... looks mean and powerful. Can't wait to see some color on the body!
  22. Thanks for the kind words Roger! I learned on my own mostly with the "one step at a time" method, I would say. There are a lot a great builders on this forum and it's a good source of motivation too. I have no formation nor experience as a machinist so I often take unusual road to achieve the results I'm looking for. However, I do have a long experience (32 years) as a graphic designer for the printing industry and I consider myself as a perfectionist even if the perfection is out of this world... Making all these pieces takes a lot of time of course, but I really love doing them and I don't count my time, it's a passion and my goal is to always strive to improve myself! Like everyone else, I built my first models only out of plastic following the kit instructions but started making or improving the kit parts probably 25 years ago with a good old Dremel and a small Xacto drill bit set that I still use today. Thanks for your interest and feel free to send me a PM with any questions you may have, it's a real pleasure to share and learn! Take care, Francis
  23. Nice job Roger, you have another cool project in the works, it looks like the lettering was done by hand directly on the body! Well done sir!
  24. Thanks for the kind comment Anton! Take care, Francis
  25. It's reassuring, a little over three weeks of delivery is very respectable under current conditions! The cabin looks good... can't wait to see mine... it cost me an arm and a leg... thanks for our devalued canadian dollar!
