72 Plymouth Roadrunner 426 HEMI 8 Pack
AmericanMuscleFan replied to AmericanMuscleFan's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Hello everyone! Today was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to try something new by taking photos outside. I also realized that I forgot to take pictures of some details of this build, so this was a good opportunity to update this thread. The new photos are not bad but some are perhaps too bright so I think that confirms to me that I am a better builder than a photographer... Questions and comments are welcome! Take care, Francis -

Beautiful color on my favorite Camaro model year! You can't go wrong with Hugger Orange and the paint looks really shiny! Very good start sir!
-
Very cool project Brian, I love the engine too! Have you ever thought about the color of the body?
-
Welcome on board Shawn! Nice and shiny blue on the Mustang! Hope you will find much satisfaction with the hobby!!!
-
Very good fabrication Jim, everything you have done so far is first class! For the engine, I think that the blower is obviously more impressive or spectacular I would say but it depend what you plan as the focal point for this build. I love the seats, its a good idea! Very bright and cosy hobby room by the way... everything you need to spend more time on the bench... ?

Thanks for the kind words Edgar! I would love to attend your show next year and I really hope my D100 is finished and ready for display. If it's not finished, I might bring some of my other posted builds like the '70 GTX, '70 Dart Swinger or my '72 Roadrunner or maybe my '69 Coronet R/T or even my '68 LO23 Hemi Dart.... I'm not very diverse as you can see... I have a little penchant for Mopar products! As I say, I love all the brands but it takes me so long to complete them that I have to choose my next subject wisely because it will be on my bench for a long time... LOL. Take care, Francis -
'41 Chev Custom
AmericanMuscleFan replied to Brianl's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
WOW! Full custom build is an euphemism sir!!! That's what I call a top chop and you did a superb job at it! I am not a custom builder but your work deserves to be pointed out, that's great scratchbuilding and a very distinctive build in the making! Keep doing your great work sir! -

Hello Mike, glad to have some comments from you my friend, I hope you are doing well! This is not the most spectacular part (I also have other mundane ones to make) but I try to follow your advices... most of the time... These parts will have a bit of you in them... I would say! More brass welded parts to come so I hope you don't hesitate to give me your good advice if I tend to stray from the right path! I hope things get a little better with you in Germany too! Take care, Francis -

Thanks Jerry! I still have a few more mundane or I would say less extreme pieces to make as connecting arms. It will therefore be a good way to practice and improve certain aspects such as soldering brass among others. Take care, Francis -

This is indisputable proof that beauty is in the eye of the beholder! It is certain that with a beautiful build of this kind and a canvas with one of the most beautiful grille designs it can not hurt... a winning combination! ? -

Thanks for the kind comments Barry! It would be hard for me to deny that the engine bay is my favorite part to build and detail. Take care, Francis -
Another beautiful and tasteful project and with good company as I can see! Nice to see another youngster interested in this fantastic hobby and thanks to sharing your knowledge with her it's refreshing ... the hobby needs these new followers... You're lucky you have easy access to HOK supplies, such a great choice of attractive colors! It's like an illegal substance here across the northern border, at least for model makers... ?

Pair of 59's that have sat way too long!
AmericanMuscleFan replied to speedy5963's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Fantastic color choice on each of your bodies, I love them all Paul, eye candy...!!! The '59 Impala is an iconic car and one of the nicest Chevy body style and what you have done so far is very promising! Very beautiful 1:1 '57 Chevy by the way! -
Very beautiful build David! The wood grain is very convincing as other have mentionned and the work on the engine is clean and accurate. Gauge faces look great, are they waterslide decals from the kit or from an external supplier?

Thanks for the kind comments Mike! Speaking of intake setup, if you mean where I got the idea, I tried to replicate what I found by researching the internet. How I did it, you can see the photos using the link in the first post which will take you to the WIP thread, all the images from the build process are available there. If you need more information (or closer pictures), please feel free to drop me a PM or ask any specific questions you may have in the WIP post, I will be more than happy to help! Take care, Francis -

Thanks Ron! I will try to take some outside pictures with natural light to see how it looks under the sun... If the result is good I will post them in the next comming days (I forgot to take pics of some work done on the body). -
