Heavy Haul Project
AmericanMuscleFan replied to Mopar - D's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Sorry for the dumb question, but are the wheels controlled by an independent servo control unit or/and connected in some way to the steering wheel of the tractor? I'm in a totally unknown ground here... -
That's looking real good Steve! Everything is so clean and very well crafted so far, I love to see the motor squeezed in the engine bay... looks mean and powerful. Can't wait to see some color on the body!

72 Plymouth Roadrunner 426 HEMI 8 Pack
AmericanMuscleFan replied to AmericanMuscleFan's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thanks for the kind words Roger! I learned on my own mostly with the "one step at a time" method, I would say. There are a lot a great builders on this forum and it's a good source of motivation too. I have no formation nor experience as a machinist so I often take unusual road to achieve the results I'm looking for. However, I do have a long experience (32 years) as a graphic designer for the printing industry and I consider myself as a perfectionist even if the perfection is out of this world... Making all these pieces takes a lot of time of course, but I really love doing them and I don't count my time, it's a passion and my goal is to always strive to improve myself! Like everyone else, I built my first models only out of plastic following the kit instructions but started making or improving the kit parts probably 25 years ago with a good old Dremel and a small Xacto drill bit set that I still use today. Thanks for your interest and feel free to send me a PM with any questions you may have, it's a real pleasure to share and learn! Take care, Francis -
Nice job Roger, you have another cool project in the works, it looks like the lettering was done by hand directly on the body! Well done sir!

Thanks for the kind comment Anton! Take care, Francis -
It's reassuring, a little over three weeks of delivery is very respectable under current conditions! The cabin looks good... can't wait to see mine... it cost me an arm and a leg... thanks for our devalued canadian dollar!

62 MOPAR Transporter
AmericanMuscleFan replied to Mopar - D's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Beautiful Dan! There aren't many models from this era that I don't like... it must have been torture to choose one in particular in the dealer's yard at the time! -
Heavy Haul Project
AmericanMuscleFan replied to Mopar - D's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The term "Heavy Duty" is a euphemism with this transporter Dan! It must not be able to turn on a dime... -
You are the master of the fire Jim! I love the roof chop you've made, just enough! I would dare to say that just the first base of candy lemon would have been satisfactory for me on one of my build, you have an undeniable talent with painting my friend!!! ?

Glad to see you back on the Maverick Joe! Better late than never buddy... Clever idea for the fenderwells by the way! ? -
I bought one too, mine has been shipped on September 15 and the parcel left RIGA for my country (Canada) on September 18. I have no idea about the transit time nor the quality of their products but I had to take a chance. I never bought anything from these guys but couldn't resist... the subject is too cool and I can't see the day when one will be released from the usual manufacturers...!

AmericanMuscleFan replied to Lorne's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I am glad to see you progressing on this beautiful little truck Lorne! Any update is a move in the right direction. Those components are simply awesome! ? -
WOW, superb job Jim! This is a super clean job and I really love that cool body shell. You can be proud of it sir!!! ?
-
Very good job John! Very beautiful color combo and great Bare Metal work all around the car. I do love the '56 Chevy and yours is a perfect rendition of the real car! Well done sir!!!
-
Very good work Terry! Your new hinghes look great. Hope you won't have too much trouble with your A pillars, they are probably very fragile now and I was forced to reinforce mine on my current pickup build. I started with a 58 year old body shell but yours is a newer kit and certainly less brittle than mine. Great job so far, keep doing your good work!!!

Very beautiful Dodge CTN Dan! I've always loved those old Dodge trucks and this older thread is worth returning to be seen by new members and some not so new... like me... The delivery will be rather interesting by the way! ? -
Beatiful build of a beatiful car Mark! That blue color fits perfectly on this Desoto and you have done a superb Bare Metal job all around the car. Nice looking car from the end of the exuberant car era with endless rear fenders... I LOVE it! ?

1974 Plymouth Satellite "Sundance Special"
AmericanMuscleFan replied to Michael Kröger's topic in Model Cars
Very beautiful build Michael ! My dad had a '75 Plymouth Fury painted the same bronze color and a beige vinyl half roof. The interior was also with a pretty similar design. Good memories... I've never seen a Sundance Special car (I didn't know this version was produced either) but your version is very cool. Well done sir!!! ☀️ -
4Runner
AmericanMuscleFan replied to zaina's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice job on the wheels Andy! I think the last set you printed looks more sturdy. The bedlock rings on the first set are very beautiful too but I think the wheels give more a show truck look IMHO. What brand or type of 3D printer do you have, SLA or FDM? The parts look very nice and crisp. Keep doing your good work sir! -

AmericanMuscleFan replied to AmericanMuscleFan's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thank you Mr. Laski, it's an honor to get the positive comments of a great builder like you! I know this type of build is definitely not to everyone's taste but I hope to bring it to the finish line... someday... The continued support of forum members is like fuel for my engine... Thanks again! Take care, Francis -
Very beautiful Charger Wayne! I always loved the Rod Shop team paint scheme! The stance is perfect!

Boss 49: A pro-touring scratch-built 49 Ford Coupe
AmericanMuscleFan replied to Claude Thibodeau's topic in Model Cars
Thanks Claude but I don't deserve this compliment... I also have 3 brand new sealed kits of these in my collection and another one that was already built that I bought at a models show many years ago. I immediately identify the engine by the oil pan... These engine were molded with the Lenco transmission attached if I remember well so I assume you replaced it by a something more conventional? I can't see clearly from the pics and your floor pan act as the lid of a treasure chest...?
