charlie libby 1965 mustang dragcar

Great job Charlie! Good start too on the engine block, another superb build in the making my friend. By the way, you can find good and different size steel wire from a guitar string kit. -
Shirley Shahan’s Hornet Pro Stock
AmericanMuscleFan replied to dragcarz's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Another very cool project Roger, I love these old AMCs! I always wanted to build the '73 Hornet of Wally Booth or the Maskin and Kanners Hornet X version (I prefer this paint scheme). I remember someone made the decals for the Hornet X a few years ago but never saw them again, maybe someone still has a set somewhere and is ready to sell? -
Yes, but I know that older phone cable (I mean those maybe 25 years plus old) have even smaller wires and are probably more in scale if you can find some. Also, I remember I bought spools of small electric wires from The Source (formerly Radio Shack) few years ago, I don't know if they still have them in store though.

FANTASTIC job Tim! You kept the soul of the original car with a notch of newer look. Definitely one of the best Rebel Machine build I have ever seen, you can be proud of it sir!!! ?

After the epic build of the massive Heavy Haul Project, it's funny to see you at something so different, a good proof that you are a true model car enthusiast Dan! I love the color by the way! -

I think that's a pretty original way of saying that you have your wife's approval in your hobby! Plus, it's good for neurons and keeps the brain healthy, it's priceless...! -

I agree with Claude, you have done a really good job on the steering rack, it's very convincing. This whole project is superb, you are going in the right direction Jason! ? -
1958 Ford F 1000
AmericanMuscleFan replied to leafsprings's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very cool project sir! I don't know why i love so much this era (mid '50 to early '70) of trucks no matter the brand. They weren't very fancy but the cabin design was so beautiful and recognizable. -

Isdera Imperator.....98% scratch build!
AmericanMuscleFan replied to Dann Tier's topic in WIP: Model Cars
It's so true Dann! 3D printing is such a fantastic technologie and the potential is endless (we do have a good example here of what can be done by a very talented designer like Erich). I was dealing with the idea of jumping on this side of the fence but the rendering is still not at the level that I would like (for 1/25 scale parts) at least without spending the big price for the most accurate 3D printer (SLA, SLS or FDM) on the market. I hope I'm wrong but I would like someone to prove me wrong... By the way, impressive job done by both of you guys!!!- 256 replies

Thanks for the good sentiment you expressed about my build Tim! I have to admit that I put a lot of effort into getting the best possible results but unfortunately perfection is not of this world! However, I like to say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder... Take care, Francis -

The Club Cab is very beautiful and nice color choice! You're going to pave the way for us with the new RAM, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the overall quality of the kit. -

Maybe salt is not good for our health but this build is good for the soul... and as if that wasn't enough, herbs are now part of the recipe... Colonel Jim's secret recipe... good at licking my computer screen!!! ? -

Thanks for the kind words Brian, let say that we do have the same tastes for quite a few things... ; -) Take care, Francis -
Great work Roger! I love the stance, it looks bad A... By the way, you can find good size wire to make your spark plug wires using the ones inside the shield of a piece of telephone cable (if you have one ...).
-
Fantastic job as usual Tim! No easy path or expressway to achieve this kind of spectacular part but you will succeed, you surprise us every time...

Strange... I thought that all the parts were molded from 3D printed parts from the real truck? The dimensions of the parts should be rather precise...!?

Thanks for the kind comment Bob! My dad always told me that "anything that deserves to be done deserves to be done well" so I apply that to everything I do, at least I try... Take care, Francis -

AmericanMuscleFan replied to charlie libby's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
It's fantastic Charlie! However, don't set those brake pads on fire, I was told the smell of burnt Delrin was horrible. Joke aside, amazing job my friend!!! -
Very good job Steven, all your scratch built parts are second to none, your attention to detail is incredible! The mix of a rare old body shell improved with the parts from a newer kit is my favorite kind of project, the best of both worlds... Keep doing the good work!!!
-
Nice job Bob, I did essentially the same kind of improvement on my MPC '72 Roadrunner with the recent AMT '71 Charger kit (I did a drag car though). It's my favorite type of project not to mention the Roadrunner is one of my favorite Mopar body no matter the year. Keep up the good work!
