  1. This build is looking great! Love the look.
  2. Wow! This is the definition of hot rod! Very nice. Engine, stance, color, really like what you have done.
  3. Yes indeed!
  4. That is some gold! I was pleasantly surprised when I did a little test with it! It was exactly what I was looking for. Wife says she’s stealing the rest for her crafts!
  5. Not sure if this is the correct area for this one or not, so please move if need be. I have a few models in the corner of my stash that were given to me along the way as Christmas and birthday gifts. This is one of them! Doing this one pretty much box stock. So far very fun! No mods at all! Sometimes ya gotta step outside the comfort zone! Engine is almost finished, fenders and chassis is painted along with the very gold parts and a little Alclad on the front and rear suspension parts to finish it out. The gold I found at the local hardware store, the purple I found at Auto Zone. The purple has a terrible nozzle on the can so I decanted a small jar full and air brushed the color on. It went on very nicely followed up with two coats of clear. Very nice color! More to come as I do more assembling.
  6. You are very welcome. Thank you for the info! Much appreciated!
  7. Very nicely done! I just read your thread on this one over on the workbench. Very cool idea on the chains as well as the spare tire mount and indent. One question, how did you get the electrical tape so tight and keep it stuck on the chain? Well done sir. Looks great!
  8. Yes it does! Thank you for the info!
  9. Great thread! Thank you all for posting your finished work and techniques, I recently read about using the powders vs flock. I have a build on the bench that I bought some turquoise embossing powder for. Going to give it a try soon.
  10. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. I hear ya, add the shipping and you’re at $80 for a couple of pieces. I might look into the Alsa kit as well.
  11. This is a fantastic build so far! I love reading posts like this to learn about new techniques and where to get certain aftermarket parts and pieces. Thank you for sharing! I do have a question. What is your method for bending the styrene for the cage and chassis? Do you localize heat it? If so, what tools do you use? Thank you in advance. I will definitely be following along on this build. Dave
  12. Sounds good. I’m curious to see their response. I have a couple builds that would look so much better with rechroming parts vs Alclad.
  13. Not sure if anyone has seen this company or not. Ran across it a while back but have not contacted them for chroming small plastic parts but their site does say model car parts. www.mmmetalizing.com

  23. Beautifully done! Very clean and sharp!
  24. My very first car, handed down from my grandparents, was exactly like the first image only with two more doors and two less cylinders! Got me from A to B!
