1ST trade with disabled modeler [ Mark Orr ] and it went perfect. Mark is good people.

AMT Showrod painted 3 colors, all seams sanded out. The problem with this kit is the chrome attachment points, when cut away it leaves 2 sometimes 3 bad spots, plus an unsightly raised seam , so I'm sanding those also and removing the chrome on items for painting. The kit looks easy and would be a quick build if not for all the extra work.. The tires were another issue, rims and trim rings were a very tight fit and would not seat in the proper spot. Had to grind out the tires with a rotary tool until the rims fit easily once they were painted. 3 tries to get the proper fit.

I would definitely leave it alone, I have a '57 Chevy my younger brother was building when he passed away in 1976. It just sits there in a small single model display case just the way he left it .....unfinished..

What do you do with a kit know body wants and some free decals? Have a little fun!!!..Started with Gowland and Gowland 1953 issue and a collection of other Gowland drivers, gave it a metallic paint job, added this and that,removed the seams and added a raised strip down the center of the hood, toss the team in the car,give them a flag and send them to NNL show. ..

There was a swap meet in Kirkwood Mo a few times a year, I knew people that went, but I never been to it. There was also a model club in Kirkwood, that may be a place to start a search.. Ken

The tractor / trailer I drive almost grossed out at 80,000 get 6 to 6.5. I know between 2nd and 10th gear as Im pulling it not good but once Im moving along I could get 7.., but 5 mpg from my personal vehicle, that would have to change quick., and todays price near the house was $1.51.9

They are a fun build Ray and a person can spend some time and use their imagination on these kits. Sometimes if you go to a craft store that has a dollhouse section you can find items for your build.
