  1. I was able to get the body done and in final primer. The tail lights fit into a hollow area so I made a simple backing plate that I will chrome foil before mounting the red lens on and other related parts. I decided to use the custom bullet looking items instead of 3 head lights on each side. Interior painted Tamiya AS20 white with red flock seat inserts and carpet.
  2. The Okey issue had fat spline style metal promo axles , green glass and full interior. Decal sheets were huge and there was 3 of them. I still have 3 of these kits left. Ones open if you need to see inside , or are they only releasing a stock promo style kit without all the neat options.
  3. Basically Danno theres is nothing here you cant get at home, The closest place to get or see older kits may be Model Empire near Milwaukee, and Im not sure about them its been a while since I been there.Pretty much any hobby store that was above average is gone. Unless you need a bottle of blue paint or yesterdays release of a kit you can buy any place, go to Portillos and have a nice lunch and read a model magazine [you'll know which one]. Have a pleasant trip to our fine city.
  4. Thats one way to do it, pretty clever solution
  5. Thats one sweet Ford Steve...and that color is perfect
  6. Cool Ford Al, gotta love that ''back in the day '' stuff...nice
  7. I like it just fine, the wheels are sharp, color fits it.
  8. I'll get back to the 64 Chevy custom later. I started messing around with this Buick but working on the Chevy but the urges were so strong I had to abort and do this Buick. This kit is jammed packed with options as long as you have the 2009 issue. Color will be Revving red with red and white interior. Drop it low, add the continental kit, spots ,skirts, short side pipes and anything else I can find. Decal sheet was big until I checked it out, it was bad and came out of a sealed kit. Heres the mock up.the kit front end decals , was a nice sheet
  9. Nothing better than a neat custom and new ideas, go Cobraman..
  10. Perfect picture , the way it was back when. A child, a tube of glue and a model kit. Good memories for grand parents and grandchildren. Nice job Paul.
  11. I had a few Aoshima kits in the past, very well made. seeing yours I was sorry I sold off all mine to make room. Nice looking build.
  12. Yeah thats the ticket. Who makes the ''Locomotion'' decals? They look good.
  13. Your hard work shows through out the build.I drive for a living and really enjoy seeing a head turner like your build.
  14. Wow that looks awesome. How long did it take to shoot that many colors and get it just perfect?
  15. That is one super great build. An era of racing I miss.
  16. I'm a sucker for an ''Old Skool'' gasser build. Its where my modeling days started and when gassers were king.
  17. I found a better wheel choice ,I think, and had the interior almost done. Then like everything I try to do I stripped it, carpet flock and all. I decided to mold the rear seat into the rear shelf and try my hand at scratching a custom interior. The rear lights I blocked the back of the tail light holes and been building it up with window maker to get a smooth lens.
  18. I want to thank all for the positive comments. These old AMT kits are full of great old parts for those who dare to be different. Soon I have the most recent issue of the 62 Buick on deck # AMT614 that has ''Old days'' parts. Pretty much every part for the hard top and some from the 62 Buick convertible and the Styline are present and thats a cool thing. Decals looked great but when I opened my kit the big sheet of decals were shot.
  19. I like it, good color and stance.
  20. Now thats possible , that is the box by it and it says 69 on one side and 70 on the other.
  21. Mine has the opening hood not fixed
  22. Caddy does have an open hood, not sure who makes it I bought it 2ND hand, It does have Modelhaus quality.
  23. Got the second build of the year completed Testors Inca gold, white and gold interior, basically stock motor. Almost 100% from the parts that came with it , tires and wheels from earlier 64 version.Carpet is a custom mix to get a green, gold look, white fur on back shelf custom steering wheel and shifter, TV, roof mounted head rests completes interior. Metal foil and Ultra gloss clear , spots, twin mirrors and rear mount antennas round out exterior. get better pictures tomorrow in the sun, been raining here for about an hour.
  24. Blue with the white top looks good . The 64 chevy kits were pretty limited on the custom offerings, kit and parts box raid. Good job.
